What Trustpilot and the club's own reviews show
As displayed on 2026-10-22, Trustpilot shows Global Penfriends (www.globalpenfriends.com, category "Social Club") with a TrustScore of 2.3 from 113 reviews, 54 of them in the last 12 months. The star distribution shown was 5-star 20 percent, 4-star 4 percent, 3-star 5 percent, 2-star 13 percent and 1-star 58 percent. The profile has been claimed since November 2020 and carries Trustpilot's "Verified business" label (verification dated 8 October 2026 against registration number 66709059892, the same number as the ABN; this is Trustpilot's label, not a finding of this site). Trustpilot also shows that the company "hasn't invited customers recently, so reviews may not be representative", that it "replied to 97% of negative reviews", and that it does not fact-check reviews. Trustpilot's AI-generated summary of recent reviews mentions dissatisfaction with website limitations, the pay model and customer service; individual reviews seen on 2026-10-22 describe being unable to message some members, money taken after cancelling a subscription, and contact with people the reviewer later believed were not genuine. These are reviewers' allegations that this site has not verified, and the company has replied to reviews on Trustpilot.
The club publishes its own review pages. Its FAQ says there are "9,805 reviews published" on its reviews page, submitted by verified members, and its Review Analysis article (word cloud of "8430 authentic reviews as of July 2025") lists message limits for free members, lack of response from others and encounters with suspicious profiles among the negative themes. These counts are the club's own and are not combined here with Trustpilot's figures.
A search of BBB's directory for "Global Penfriends" on 2026-10-22 returned "No results"; BBB says it does not have every business in its directory. The club is based in Australia, so no BBB profile, rating or complaint count is stated here. The CFPB complaint database covers financial products and was not applicable. No published complaint reports are currently linked to this profile.

Submit a ComplaintGlobal Penfriends: Premium, cancellation, refunds and member safety
This page was checked on 2026-10-22. Global Penfriends has no complaints in this site's archive that name it, so the steps on this page come from the club's own Terms of Service, FAQ and contact pages, and the documented record comes from Trustpilot and Australian business registers.
- Cancelling a subscription. The FAQ says: "Please sign into your profile and click on the Payments link. Then click on the active subscription and cancel it. Alternatively, submit a support ticket and we will cancel it within 24 hours." The Terms say club members "have 30 days to cancel a monthly subscription and 364 days to cancel their annual subscription" and that a member who forgets to cancel before a subscription rolls over "is not entitled to a refund".
- Refunds. The Terms say "Users are entitled to a full refund provided they have not utilised the service" and that, for Premium, using the service means "sending internal messages to other users and viewing premium profile data". They also say memberships are not refunded pro rata, that an activated membership "cannot be returned", and that Gifted Premium is non-refundable once delivered. The same Terms add a "Change of heart or mind" clause ("If an upgraded user decides at a later time that they do not wish to be a member, there is no grounds for a refund") and say that a member who "pursues a conversation outside the Global Penfriends internal messaging system will not be eligible for a refund".

The Terms were marked "Last Modified: 5th January, 2019" on the page read on 2026-10-22, although they refer to features such as Gifted Premium.
- Payment disputes. The Terms say that if a chargeback or payment dispute is raised (including through PayPal or Stripe) and the club's records show the service was used, Global Penfriends "will contest the dispute" and may give the payment provider a report of dated Premium usage.
More detailShow less
The Privacy Policy says payments are processed by PayPal and Stripe and the club never sees or stores card numbers. If you are disputing a charge, your card issuer or PayPal explains its own dispute rules and time limits.
- Contacting the club. The contact page says account, billing, technical and user-report queries go through the member Support form after signing in, and that a separate email address (published as an image on that page) is for press, business and non-account enquiries.

The FAQ says anyone who forgot both their email and password should use the contact page for a manual security check.
- Free member limits. The FAQ says free members can open their 5 most recently active conversations and "can start a new conversation with about 80% of members"; Premium members and members under 21 are not affected by that limit.
More detailShow less
Other limits apply to Premium: the Terms say upgraded accounts have unlimited messaging to existing contacts "but will be limited to contacting 40 new members each day", and the FAQ says free members can swap addresses with 2 new penpals a month and Premium members with 8. These limits are the club's description of its own design.
- Safety. The FAQ says members can block or report a penpal from the three-dot menu in a conversation, and the Terms say users should keep conversations on the internal messaging system and share contact details only after trust is built.

The Terms also say it is impossible for the club to verify information members give. If you were asked for money or gifts by someone you met on the site, you can report it in Australia through the Scamwatch reporting form (National Anti-Scam Centre, ACCC; linked from this page's sources) or, from the United States, through ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
- Deleting your profile. The FAQ says: sign in, click My Profile, choose Delete profile and confirm; "once deleted, your data cannot be restored".
Who operates Global Penfriends
The Terms of Service describe the agreement as being "between you and Global Penfriends (ABN: 66 709 059 892)". The Australian Business Register (ABN Lookup, record extracted 22 October 2026) shows ABN 66 709 059 892 as The Trustee for Global Penfriends Trust, a Discretionary Trading Trust, with the ABN active from 1 July 2015, GST registration from 1 April 2017 and a main business location in Western Australia.
The contact page says Global Penfriends is "a registered Australian Business since 1995 with its main office in Perth, Western Australia"; the footer carries a "1995 - 2026" copyright line and the club's own pages give different spans: the home page says it has been connecting penpals "for over 25 years", while the FAQ says "30+ years". These are the company's own statements; the ABN record shows the current ABN from 2015. The Terms say they are governed by the laws of the state of Western Australia. The site says it is a friendship club rather than a dating service: "We do not accept users that are obviously looking for a romantic partner".
More company historyShow less
The service has a free tier and a paid Premium tier, with optional add-ons such as snail mail credits that the FAQ says are "a separate add-on, not included in Premium". Prices were not visible without signing in and are not stated here. The Privacy Policy says the club does not sell members' data or send marketing email, and that postal addresses members choose to share "are accessible by any Premium (paying) member".
