Freecash Reviews, Complaints & Contacts

Freecash (freecash.com) is a rewards app and website operated by Almedia GmbH of Berlin that pays users in gift cards, PayPal and crypto for playing games, taking surveys and completing offers. Its help center says the first withdrawal requires a verified email, an ID check and a minimum balance of $25, which may differ by region, and its Terms of Service allow offer credits to be held for up to 90 days. In April 2026 Apple removed the app citing misleading marketing and Google Play removed it too; both stores listed it again by June 2026.

Complaints about Freecash and where to send them

No published complaint reports are currently linked to this profile.

Trustpilot. Freecash's Trustpilot page is claimed by the company, and Trustpilot shows that Freecash has replied to 99% of its negative reviews. Trustpilot marks reviews collected through a company's own review invitations as "Invited", and that label appears on reviews on the Freecash page.

Better Business Bureau. BBB keeps a file on Freecash under the name "Freecash (Almedia USA, Inc)" with the Wilmington, Delaware address. It shows 964 complaints in the last three years, 656 of them in the last 12 months, but publishes no complaint details or breakdown by type. Freecash is not BBB accredited, and BBB lists it as Not Rated, giving as its reasons that the Delaware address "is a registered agent only and not the location of the business", that the company appears to be based outside the US, and that BBB "does not process complaints on companies based outside our service area." These are BBB's own figures and are separate from complaints submitted on this site.

Where to send a complaint. Start with Freecash support. Its help center recommends Live Chat as the fastest route in most cases: on desktop, the green message icon at the bottom right of the homepage; on mobile, Chat in the left sidebar, then the headset icon at the top right. For a missing offer reward, use the Support Ticket in My Profile, Started Offers (Freecash-hosted offers) or the partner's own support (partner offers). For withdrawals, verification or a suspended account, you can also write to [email protected] with your Freecash ID, the date and screenshots. If the problem is a misleading ad or you suspect fraud, report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to your state attorney general's consumer protection office. To report the app itself, use reportaproblem.apple.com for the iOS app, or "Flag as inappropriate" in the More menu of the app's Google Play page. Users in the EU can turn to the European Consumer Centre in their country, which handles complaints against traders based in another EU country, such as Almedia in Germany.

Freecash withdrawals, ID verification, uncredited offers and account holds

Withdrawing for the first time. Freecash's help article on first withdrawals lists three requirements: a verified email address, ID verification, and a minimum balance. It says ID verification is requested when you make the first withdrawal, runs through the partner Veriff, takes up to five minutes and needs camera access for a selfie plus a physical ID document. It gives the minimum for a first withdrawal as $25 and adds that this "may differ depending on your region" and that the Cashout page shows your exact amount. For later withdrawals the article says you do not need to verify your ID or meet a minimum, only to have enough balance for the chosen method (it gives $5 for PayPal as an example).

Fees and delivery. According to the same article, PayPal, Venmo, Visa and bank-transfer cashouts carry a 5% withdrawal fee, small amounts can add a fixed fee (on PayPal, $1 on the $5, $10 and $20 cashouts), gift cards have no fee, and the exact fee is shown before you confirm. For PayPal, Venmo and ACH the payout arrives by email and you enter your payment details there.

What the Terms of Service say about holds and verification. The Terms say Almedia may verify identity before crediting or paying out Rewards (section 9), that "we have a right temporarily to hold any offer credits up to 90 days after an Offer has been completed" (section 8), that all redemptions are final and cannot be reversed after a prize is received (section 8), and that Rewards "have no cash, monetary, or other value" until redeemed for a Redemption Prize (sections 5 and 6).

An offer was completed but not credited. Freecash's help article separates offers hosted by Freecash from offers provided by partners. It says crediting can take up to 48 hours and asks users not to open a ticket before then; some one-time rewards must be claimed with a Claim button; and offers with a time limit (for example reaching a level within 7 days of install) are not credited if the deadline was missed.

For a Freecash-hosted offer, the path is My Profile, Started Offers, the green Support Ticket icon next to the offer, with the date of completion and at least one screenshot or video as proof (up to three open tickets per offer). For a partner offer, the article says to contact the partner directly after 72 hours with your Freecash ID, the offer details, the completion date and screenshots, and that partner replies can take up to 35 days.

Account suspended or rewards withheld: what the Terms allow. Section 19 lets Almedia suspend or terminate access "for any or no reason" and suspend or void unredeemed Rewards if it determines the Terms were not complied with.

Section 17 prohibits, among other things, VPN, proxy and emulator use, bots and scripts, and fake or VOIP phone numbers for verification; section 2 allows only one account per person and per household. Sections 9 and 17.5 say Almedia may decline to disclose the fraud-prevention signals or detailed reasons behind a verification decision, suspension or forfeiture, even on appeal, and may give only a general reason. Section 17.5 adds that this does not limit rights under mandatory law, including, where applicable, the right to human review of a decision made solely by automated means and to contest it.

Account suspended or cashout denied: what to do.

  • Contact support through Live Chat or at [email protected] and ask for the reason for the decision, quoting your Freecash ID and the date of the cashout or suspension.
  • If the decision appears to have been made automatically, ask in writing for a human review and state why you think it is wrong (section 17.5).
  • Keep screenshots of your balance, the cashout attempt and every support reply.
  • If support does not resolve it, use the outside routes on this page; a claim under the Terms must be brought within one year (section 31).

Other routes. Section 31 says, unless prohibited by law, a claim relating to the Terms must be brought within one year after it arises. Reports about misleading ads or suspected fraud can be filed with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and with your state attorney general; Apple, in its statement to TechCrunch, pointed users to reportaproblem.apple.com for reporting apps they believe are fraudulent. For a gift card bought with a payment card, section 10a.4 of the Terms says purchases are final and cannot be refunded once delivered, to the fullest extent permitted by law; if a card you paid with was charged for a gift card you did not receive, you can dispute the charge with your card issuer, and for a credit card the Fair Credit Billing Act requires the written dispute to reach the issuer within 60 days after the statement showing the charge was sent.

Who operates Freecash, how it works and its 2026 app store history

Who operates Freecash. The Terms of Service state that they are between the user and Almedia GmbH, and that the website is operated by Almedia GmbH, Koppenstr. 8, 10243 Berlin, Germany. Almedia's imprint lists the commercial register entry HRB 252752 B at the Berlin (Charlottenburg) register court. For gift card purchases made by US cardholders with a US-issued payment card, the Terms name Almedia USA, Inc., 251 Little Falls Dr., Wilmington, DE 19808, as the seller and contracting party; the rest of the platform stays with Almedia GmbH (Terms, sections 1, 10a.0 and 34). The Terms are governed by German law, except US gift card transactions, which are governed by New York law with New York courts having exclusive jurisdiction "except where mandatory applicable consumer law provides otherwise" (section 30). The same section says the choice of law does not take away protections under mandatory law of the user's own country or state that cannot be waived by contract. The Terms of Service contain no arbitration clause.

How it works. Freecash says it lets users earn rewards by completing tasks, surveys and offers, redeemable for gift cards, PayPal and crypto. Users must be at least 16 (section 2). Malwarebytes described the model in January 2026 as paying users for in-game challenges in mobile games such as Monopoly Go and Disney Solitaire, with payouts ranging from a single cent to triple-digit amounts depending on levels reached within a fixed period, and Almedia as a business that matches game developers with users likely to install and spend.

Privacy. Almedia's privacy policy for US residents (version of August 20, 2026) describes two optional device features: reading the list of installed apps to select offers and, on Android, usage access ("PlayTime") to measure play in offer games. It says this installed-app information is not sold or shared with third parties, and that ID checks run through the verification partners Veriff and Verisoul. In January 2026 Malwarebytes criticized the privacy policy as it then stood for permitting the collection of sensitive categories such as health, sexual orientation and biometrics. In an update to that article, Almedia said it does not sell user data and that it had removed an affiliate found operating in breach of its policies. The current US policy says that where Almedia collects sensitive data in connection with surveys, it does so only from users aged 18 or older with explicit opt-in consent and uses it only to match users with surveys.

Press coverage and app store status in 2026. In January 2026 Wired reported that Freecash used deceptive marketing, and TikTok then pulled some Freecash ads, according to TechCrunch's April 14, 2026 report. Freecash said those ads were made by third-party affiliates. Apple removed the app from the App Store on Monday, April 13, after TechCrunch contacted it, citing App Store Review Guidelines 3.1.2(a) and 2.3.1; TechCrunch updated its story on April 15 to note that the app had also been removed from Google Play. Almedia told TechCrunch that it denies driving artificial traffic or using deceptive marketing and that its apps comply with both stores' policies. PocketGamer.biz reported on May 7, 2026 that Freecash was back on Google Play, quoting Almedia as calling the reports about it "inaccurate and misleading", and on June 17, 2026 that it had returned to the App Store. The US App Store lists the iOS app under the seller name Almedia Ops UK LTD.
