Using or evaluating Flow Engineering? What to check
Flow Engineering (flowengineering.com) sells subscription software for requirements and systems engineering, mainly to companies that build hardware. People searching the name are usually engineers or buyers weighing a trial or a contract, or readers of the September 30, 2026 funding news. What the company's own pages say, as read on 2026-10-01:
- Plans and prices. The Pricing page lists Basic at "150USD /editor/month" (500 requirements, 1 project, "Try for free"), Pro at "300USD /editor/month" (5,000 requirements, 5 projects, priority support) and Enterprise as "Custom" (adds "ITAR AWS GovCloud", custom integrations and advanced access controls). The Pricing page does not state billing frequency, trial length, or refund terms. A separate Pricing Comparison page (/pricing/comparison) has a table row "Onboarding Time" in which the Flow cell reads "Instant access & 14 days" (the Jira cell in the same row reads "30 days trial"); the page does not label Flow's 14 days as a trial or say what it covers. The same table lists "Approx cost (6 editors)" as "$1000/mo" for Flow without naming a plan, so confirm the actual fee, term and renewal in a written quote.
- Sign-up. The Pricing page's "Try for free" button and the home page's "Login" and "Start Trial" links point to branch.flowengineering.com, which asks for a customer name. A separate page at app.flowengineering.com/register was live on 2026-10-01 with a "Sign up" form (first and last name, work email, password, and a checkbox "Accept Flow's privacy policy"); it was not found among the links in the home or Pricing page HTML checked.
- Contract terms. The footer links only a Disclaimer (covering use of the website) and a Privacy & Cookie Policy. Common paths such as /terms, /terms-of-service, /terms-and-conditions, /legal, /dpa and /msa on flowengineering.com returned "not found" on 2026-10-01. The subscription agreement for customers was not publicly posted on the pages checked, so the signed order form or agreement, and the entity named in it, is the document to read for term, renewal, fees and dispute rules.
- Which company you contract with. The site footer reads "Flow Engineering, Inc.", while the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer say the website is "owned and operated by TRC Space Ltd" (England and Wales, number 10407202). The pages checked do not say how the two relate, so confirm the contracting entity on your order form.
- SSO. Two company pages differ. The Pricing comparison table shows "SSO and SAML" only under Enterprise, while the Security page FAQ says "SAML 2.0 SSO is available on every plan. SCIM provisioning is included on the Enterprise plan." Ask which applies to your plan.
- Cancelling and your data. The Security FAQ says: "On cancellation we provide a complete export of your data within 30 days, then permanently delete all customer data from our systems within 90 days." The Privacy Policy's retention list says, for "Service data" (information entered into or generated by the hosted service), "minimum 48 months, maximum 10 years from contract end." The pages do not reconcile the two, and neither page describes how to give notice of cancellation; put the deletion terms in writing in your agreement.
- Marketing profiling. The Privacy Policy's "Automated Decision-Making" section says personal data is used "to identify users likely to benefit from services", by analyzing "job title and company alongside non-personal company data compared to historical data"; the stated consequences are "targeted or reduced marketing communications". It says users may object to direct marketing and that Flow "will cease this processing upon objection" (requests go to [email protected]).
- Support. The Pricing table lists "Email" support on Basic, "Priority support (Slack, Teams)" on Pro and an "Account Manager" on Enterprise. General contact: [email protected]; privacy and data-rights requests: [email protected] (per the Privacy Policy). No telephone number was found on the pages checked.
- Keep records of your order form, invoices and any security or compliance documents you relied on. The Security page says penetration-test reports "are available under NDA to customers on request."
Regulator, registry and breach-list checks
The checks below were run on 2026-10-01 and report only what each source returned.
- California Attorney General data-breach list. A search of the published list for the organization name "Flow Engineering" returned "There are currently no published reported breaches." Other states' breach lists were not searched.
- FedRAMP. The company's September 30, 2026 press release says it plans to "pursue FedRAMP authorization and other certifications for customers in regulated industries." The U.S. General Services Administration's public FedRAMP marketplace data file (its metadata shows a last change of 2026-05-19) contained no entry matching "Flow Engineering", "TRC Space" or "flowengineering". The Security page describes "ITAR-aligned deployments in AWS GovCloud" and lists SOC 2 Type II and NIST 800-171 among its badges; those are company statements, and no audit report or certificate was seen.
- SEC EDGAR. The EDGAR company-name search for "flow engineering" and for "TRC Space" returned "No matching companies." That means no registrant with those names was found there; it does not show whether private securities filings exist under another name.
- Enforcement. No regulator enforcement action naming Flow Engineering or TRC Space Ltd was identified in the sources checked. A search of the FTC case library did not apply the name filter, so it is not counted as a completed check, and state attorney-general and other regulator databases were not searched individually. The California Secretary of State business search was blocked by the site's security check and was not completed.
Company background
Who runs the website. Flow's Privacy & Cookie Policy (last updated May 20, 2026) says "The website is owned and operated by TRC Space Ltd", registered in England and Wales, number 10407202, and names Northwest House, 119 Marylebone Road, London NW1 5PU as registered office and principal place of business. Its Disclaimer (last updated January 1, 2023) carries the same company details plus a VAT number and says English law governs the Disclaimer. Companies House shows TRC SPACE LTD as an active private limited company incorporated on 3 October 2016, with a registered office at 9-11 Richmond Buildings, London W1D 3HF (changed on 11 June 2025 from the Marylebone Road address), classified under SIC 62012 (business and domestic software development), with last accounts made up to 31 March 2025 and no registered charges. Companies House lists one current director and a corporate secretary appointed on 4 June 2026. Companies House also lists one active person with significant control (an individual, not named here), whose nature of control is shown as "Ownership of shares – 75% or more", "Ownership of voting rights - 75% or more" and "Right to appoint or remove directors"; the register does not show a corporate parent. Two addresses. The current registered office on Companies House is 9-11 Richmond Buildings, London W1D 3HF. The Privacy Policy (last updated May 20, 2026) still calls Northwest House, 119 Marylebone Road both the registered office and the principal place of business, and the Disclaimer (last updated January 1, 2023) gives the same address as principal place of business; the Privacy Policy's registered-office statement conflicts with Companies House. The website footer reads "© Copyright 2026 Flow Engineering, Inc." The pages checked do not state a U.S. state of incorporation or how Flow Engineering, Inc. relates to TRC Space Ltd, and the U.S. registry search could not be completed.
What it sells. The company says it is "building the agentic systems engineering platform for the companies building the physical world" and that Flow "gives these teams a living system of record that connects requirements, CAD, simulation, code, and test." Its Integrations page lists connections to tools such as Confluence, Cursor, Excel, GitHub, GitLab and Google Drive. Weekly release notes are published at docs.flowengineering.com/release-notes (latest entry September 25, 2026). The customer login page asks for a customer name before sign-in.
Where it is based. The press release is datelined "San Francisco, CA" and the founder's letter refers to "our San Francisco HQ"; TechCrunch also calls Flow "San Francisco-based." The company's post about its Series A says "we’ve relocated our HQ to San Francisco." No street address for San Francisco was found on the pages checked.
Jobs. The Careers page says "26 open roles" and groups them under "Full-time · On-site" (18 entries listed on 2026-10-01, in San Francisco and London) and "Full-time · Remote" (7 entries: Washington DC, Los Angeles and Austin, field sales and solutions roles); the two lists add to 25 entries against the page's "26". Most listings show a salary range and "Offers Equity"; applications go through jobs.ashbyhq.com/flowengineering.
Leadership and funding (as reported by the company and TechCrunch). The company's release quotes "Pari Singh, Founder and CEO of Flow." TechCrunch reported in December 2022 an $8.5 million seed round led by EQT Ventures. A company post titled "Announcing Flow's $23M Series A, Led by Sequoia" says it "raised $23M from Sequoia Capital, Patrick and John Collison (Stripe) and David Helgason (Unity)". TechCrunch's September 30, 2026 item says Flow "has raised a $50 million Series B round at a $750 million valuation," co-led by Antonio Gracias of Valor Equity Partners and Gavin Baker of Atreides Management, that Sequoia Capital "led Flow's Series A round last October," and that Roelof Botha invested as an individual and joined the board. The company's release lists further participants, including Human Capital, Evantic, SV Angel, Odyssey and EQT. These are the company's and TechCrunch's statements about the round; the funding documents were not seen.
Customers (named by the company). The press release says customers added since the Series A include General Motors PPU, "Rivian and Volkswagen's joint venture (RV Tech)", Anduril, Stoke Space, Intuitive Machines and Pacific Fusion, alongside Joby Aviation, Astranis and Radiant Industries. A July 13, 2026 post on Flow's site describes a three-year partnership with RV Tech. These are company statements; no customer contract was seen.
Security and data statements (company claims). The Security page says customer data is stored by default "in AWS us-east-1 with full encryption at rest", that "Your data is never used to train Flow's models, nor any third-party model", and that Flow runs "continuous internal testing plus a third-party penetration test on every major release" (a separate card on the same page says "on every release"). The Privacy Policy says website and services databases are stored on Amazon Web Services servers. No SOC 2 report, penetration-test report or certificate was available to check.
Complaint record: what was checked, reported separately
As displayed or returned on 2026-10-01, each source reported separately and not combined.
- USAComplaints: 0 approved posts name Flow Engineering, TRC Space Ltd or flowengineering.com.
- BBB: a bbb.org search for "Flow Engineering" across the U.S. returned five listings, none of them a software company: "Flow Engineering" (category Honing Machines, Main Street, Avon, MA), "Advanced Flow Engineering, Inc." (Corona, CA), "Air Flow Engineering" (White Pine, TN), "Rol Flo Engineering Inc" (Westerly, RI) and an "Engineering Office Management & Administration" listing in New York. The same search near San Francisco, CA returned no results, and a search for "TRC Space" returned only storage-facility listings. A separate BBB profile titled "Flow Engineering Inc" (Industrial Manufacturers, 801 1st St W, North Vancouver, BC, Canada) was opened on 2026-10-01; it is a Canadian manufacturer listing and was not among the U.S.-scoped search results. No BBB profile for the software company was found in these searches, so no BBB rating or complaint count is reported.
- Trustpilot: trustpilot.com/review/flowengineering.com displayed "The page you're looking for could not be found." A Trustpilot search for "flow engineering" returned 959 companies; the first page, including "Correct Flow Engineering" (correctflow.co.uk, Morecambe, United Kingdom, 0.00 reviews), did not include flowengineering.com.
- ComplaintsBoard: searches for "flowengineering" and "TRC Space" returned "No reviews matching" the term. A search for "flow engineering" returned 22 keyword matches about other businesses and topics; none named Flow Engineering as the company.
- Courts: CourtListener RECAP searches by case name returned no docket for "TRC Space" and none identifying the software company for "Flow Engineering". The case-name hits were five federal dockets involving Advanced Flow Engineering, Inc. (C.D. Cal.) and a Chapter 7 bankruptcy docket in the name "Flow Engineering, Inc." (U.S. Bankruptcy Court, N.D. Cal., No. 98-53163, filed April 22, 1998). Nothing on those pages connects them to the software company, so this page does not attribute them to it; the RECAP index is not a complete record of court filings.
- CFPB: not checked, because Flow Engineering does not present itself as a financial-services provider.
- Consumer-complaint themes: none to report, because no complaint source identified for this company contained complaints about it.
Same-name businesses seen in those searches. "Advanced Flow Engineering, Inc." (BBB category wholesale auto parts, Corona, California), "Correct Flow Engineering" (Trustpilot, United Kingdom), a BBB "Flow Engineering" listed under Honing Machines (Main Street, Avon, Massachusetts), a BBB "Flow Engineering Inc" listed under Industrial Manufacturers (North Vancouver, British Columbia), and "Air Flow Engineering" (BBB, heating and air conditioning, Tennessee) appear under similar names with different addresses and categories than those on Flow's own pages (San Francisco and London). BBB's profile for "AFE Power" (Corona, California) is the record that appeared in the search as "Advanced Flow Engineering, Inc.". Only BBB profile or search-result pages were opened for them.
