What BBB and Trustpilot show
BBB. As displayed on 2026-10-20, the BBB profile for Figma Inc., San Francisco, CA (category Information Technology Services) shows "NOT a BBB Accredited Business" and a BBB rating of C-, with the reason "Failure to respond to 8 complaint(s) filed against business". The complaints tab shows 8 complaints in the last 3 years and 2 in the last 12 months. The newest displayed complaint is dated 01/13/2026, type Product Issues, status Unanswered, and describes a disputed $21.78 card transaction; it is the complainant's account and BBB does not adjudicate it. BBB page data gives a file-opened date of 2022-10-04 and a business-start date of 1999-04-10 (as BBB records it; Figma's own filings say it was incorporated in 2012). The customer-reviews tab shows 1 out of 5 stars on an average of 5 customer reviews, which is separate from the business rating. By BBB complaint type, the 8 displayed complaints are: Billing Issues (3), Service or Repair Issues (2), Product Issues (1), Sales and Advertising Issues (1) and Customer Service Issues (1), all with status Unanswered. Complainants describe, among other things, a card charge of $20 per month for 8 months totalling $160 (12/30/2025), cancelled seats still being billed (09/30/2025), being unable to downgrade from Professional to Free (06/13/2025) and restricted data access (12/04/2024). One complaint (03/28/2024) says an unsolicited credit-report inquiry was made at TransUnion by a company the complainant does not know; this is the complainant's account, and BBB does not establish that the inquiry was made by Figma, Inc.
Trustpilot. As displayed on 2026-10-20, Figma's Trustpilot page shows 1.9 from 245 reviews, a claimed profile since March 2020, that the company invites customers to review, and that it "Hasn't replied to negative reviews". Trustpilot's AI-generated summary of 84 recent reviews says reviewers frequently mentioned unexpected extra charges, subscription terms, difficulty downgrading or cancelling, and slow performance. Trustpilot states that it does not fact-check reviews, and these are individual opinions, not findings.
The BBB and Trustpilot figures come from different groups of people and are not added together or compared with this site's archive, which contains no Figma complaints.

Submit a ComplaintFigma complaints: cancelling, refunds, billing and who to contact
This page was checked on 2026-10-20. Figma has no complaints in this site's archive, so the practical steps on this page come from Figma's own Terms of Service and Pricing FAQs, and the documented record comes from BBB, Trustpilot, SEC filings and court dockets.
- Cancelling a paid plan. The Terms of Service (effective March 11, 2026) say subscriptions "will automatically renew on a monthly or annual basis" unless cancelled, that notice of cancellation can be given "through Customer's Figma account settings within the Services", and that "any cancellation will take effect at the end of the then-current subscription term". The Pricing FAQs say a Professional plan can be cancelled at any time by clicking "Downgrade to a Starter Team" from the Admin Dashboard, that the team then loses paid features "at the end of your pay period", and that annual-plan customers are notified 30 days before renewal.
More detailShow less
The same FAQ adds that a customer can choose not to renew an annual plan, "in which case all of your full seats would be paid monthly", so non-renewal changes the billing to monthly rather than ending it; Terms Section 3.5 says purchased quantities "cannot be decreased during the relevant subscription term". The two pages describe the route differently (account settings versus the Admin Dashboard button); both are quoted here.
- Refunds. Terms Section 3.5 says "fees paid are non-refundable" unless the Terms say otherwise. The Pricing FAQ answers "Can I get a refund?" with "Payments for Figma subscriptions are non-refundable" and adds that if you are unhappy you can contact Figma inside the app or at [email protected] with a detailed account, and Figma says it will work with you. The Terms do provide a pro rata refund of pre-paid unused fees if Figma cancels a subscription for reasons other than the customer's breach (Section 8.2(a)) and a refund of the unused portion if a customer objects to a mid-term price change within 30 days (Section 3.6).
- An unexpected charge. Start with [email protected] or the in-app contact route, with the date, amount and the last four digits of the card. Terms Section 3.4 authorizes Figma, through its payment processor, to charge the payment method for renewals and other purchases such as seat additions and AI credits. Terms Section 3.1(b) says AI Credits subscriptions renew monthly and pay-as-you-go credits are billed monthly in arrears. Section 3.4 also makes the customer responsible for "bank fees, interest charges, finance charges, overdraft charges" resulting from Figma's charges and says Figma may suspend access if the full amount owed is not paid, and Section 3.5 says billing-related credits from Figma "expire after 1 year" unless Figma specifies otherwise. For AI credits, the Figma AI Terms (effective June 24, 2026) say credits "do not rollover", that any refund or credit for an AI Credits Subscription is "solely based on the time remaining in the subscription term, and not on the number of unused Credits", that the subscription renews unless cancelled "in the Admin dashboard" with effect at the end of the monthly term, and that pay-as-you-go can be switched off and given a budget through the admin dashboard.

Disputing a charge with your card issuer is a separate route; this page does not assess whether any particular charge was correct.
- If the dispute is not resolved. The Terms (Section 9.11) require binding individual arbitration administered by National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM) unless you opt out in writing within 30 days of first agreeing to the Terms, by email to [email protected] or by post to 760 Market St, Floor 10, San Francisco, CA 94102. The opt-out window is measured from first agreeing to the Terms or any updated Terms, and the Terms allow either party to go to court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property rights; the arbitrator has exclusive authority over threshold questions of whether arbitration applies. Before a demand can be filed, a written Pre-Arbitration Letter goes to [email protected] and a 60-day period applies.

Class actions are waived. Governing law is California. Complaints can also be filed with the BBB and, for payment problems, with your card issuer.
- Downgrade or seat-charge problems. Several displayed BBB complaints concern billing, seat charges and downgrading (see the record section). They are the complainants' accounts; Figma's responses are not shown. Keep the dates and amounts of charges and any support reply when contacting Figma or your card issuer.

AI and your files. The Figma AI Terms (effective June 24, 2026) say that when "Content Training" is toggled on in an administrator's settings, Figma may use Customer Content to improve its products by training machine learning and AI models, and that Input and Output remain the customer's content. The Terms of Service say Figma and its service providers may use Customer Content to provide the Services. Who operates Figma?
Figma, Inc. is named as the contracting party in the Terms of Service, with a notice address of 760 Market St, Floor 10, San Francisco, CA 94102. The Terms say cancellation notice can be given through account settings and takes effect at the end of the current subscription term. The Pricing FAQ says a Professional plan is cancelled by clicking "Downgrade to a Starter Team" from the Admin Dashboard, and that annual-plan customers are notified 30 days before renewal. Choosing not to renew an annual plan moves the full seats to monthly billing rather than stopping charges, and purchased seat quantities cannot be decreased during the term.

The Terms allow court actions to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property rights.
Does Figma use my files to train AI?
The Figma AI Terms (effective June 24, 2026) say that when "Content Training" is toggled on in the administrator's settings, Figma may use Customer Content to train machine learning and AI models.
