Fear of God

Fear of God, LLC is a Los Angeles apparel company that, according to its own federal-court filings, was started by designer Jerry Lorenzo in 2013; it holds the FEAR OF GOD and FEAR OF GOD ESSENTIALS trademarks registered with the USPTO. It sells its mainline collection and lower-priced ESSENTIALS line through fearofgod.com and through retailers named on its own ESSENTIALS Stocklist page (SSENSE, Selfridges, END Clothing, Mr Porter, IT HK/IT CN, GR8, Nordstrom and Pacsun); fearofgod.com states that ESSENTIALS items, along with several other categories, are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. Fear of God, LLC has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau (46 complaints in the last three years, not accredited) and an unclaimed Trustpilot profile scored 1.5 out of 5 from 73 reviews, and in 2026 it filed numerous anti-counterfeiting lawsuits against alleged sellers of fake ESSENTIALS and Fear of God merchandise while separately being named as a defendant in an Americans with Disabilities Act website-accessibility lawsuit filed in August 2026. No complaints about the company have been submitted to USAComplaints as of September 29, 2026.

Buying Fear of God or ESSENTIALS? What to check first

Fear of God, LLC is the Los Angeles company behind the Fear of God mainline collection and the lower-priced ESSENTIALS line. Both names are registered U.S. trademarks owned by Fear of God, LLC (FEAR OF GOD, Reg. No. 7,299,833; FEAR OF GOD ESSENTIALS, Reg. No. 6,380,625). Fear of God publishes its return, refund and shipping terms across three separate pages — an FAQ, a Refund Policy, and a Shipping Policy — and, as detailed below, some of the wording differs from page to page. Before you buy, or if you already have a problem with an order, it is worth reading the specific page for your situation rather than relying on a search result or a marketplace listing.

  • Check the ESSENTIALS Stocklist before you buy elsewhere. Fear of God’s own ESSENTIALS Stocklist page (fearofgod.com/pages/essentials-stocklist) names eight retailers: SSENSE (online), Selfridges (London, Birmingham, Manchester), END Clothing (London, Newcastle, Glasgow), Mr Porter (online), IT HK / IT CN (Hong Kong, Shanghai), GR8 (Tokyo), Nordstrom (USA/Canada) and Pacsun (USA); the page does not use the word “authorized” and does not list fearofgod.com itself. A site using the ESSENTIALS or Fear of God name that is not on this list is simply not named there — that alone does not establish whether it is a counterfeiter, an unauthorized reseller, or something else. For example, a storefront at essentialsfearofgod.us was still selling “Essentials” hoodies and tracksuits at discounted prices when rechecked live on September 29, 2026, and does not appear on fearofgod.com’s own stocklist. If you bought from a site like this, keep your receipt, order confirmation, and screenshots of the site and its checkout, and raise a dispute with your payment provider if the goods don’t match what was advertised.
  • Fear of God’s own pages give two different return windows for domestic orders. The FAQ says: “Eligible items purchased domestically on fearofgod.com can be returned within 15 days of the shipping date. International returns must be initiated within 28 days of the shipping date.” The separate Refund Policy page says: “ALL DOMESTIC ORDERS PLACED ON FEAROFGOD.COM ARE ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN WITHIN 15 BUSINESS DAYS OF RECEIVING YOUR SHIPMENT.” These are not the same window — one counts calendar days from when the order ships, the other counts business days from when you receive it — and fearofgod.com does not reconcile the difference on either page. Both are quoted here as each page currently states them.
  • Domestic returns go through Returnly; a $7 fee applies to the prepaid label. The Refund Policy page says domestic returns are submitted through the returns portal, processed by a third-party service called Returnly, and: “IF YOU USE THE PREPAID SHIPPING LABEL GENERATED FROM RETURNLY, WE WILL DEDUCT A FEE OF $7.00 FROM YOUR REFUND.” The same page says to allow “7-14 BUSINESS DAYS FOR ALL RETURNS TO BE PROCESSED” once the item reaches Fear of God’s Los Angeles distribution center — a separate window from how long the refund itself then takes to reach your account (see below). Purchases made at a retail partner (SSENSE, Selfridges, END Clothing, Mr Porter, IT HK/IT CN, GR8, Nordstrom, or Pacsun) cannot be returned to Fear of God at all: the Refund Policy states, “WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS OF FEAR OF GOD PRODUCTS PURCHASED AT OUR RETAILERS PARTNERS. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR ORIGINAL POINT OF PURCHASE.”
  • Exchanges are limited and separate from returns. The Refund Policy page says domestic online purchases of full-priced items are “ELIGIBLE FOR AN EXCHANGE WITHIN 15 DAYS OF RECEIVING YOUR ITEM(S)” and that “FINAL SALE ITEMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR AN EXCHANGE.” International exchanges follow the same 15-day, final-sale-excluded rule through a prepaid DHL label. Discounted (non-full-price) domestic items are not covered by this exchange section.
  • Check whether your item is final sale before you buy — but the company’s own pages don’t fully agree on the list. The FAQ lists final-sale categories as “Essentials, Collaborations, Sale, Underwear/boxer briefs/socks, The California, Athletics Footwear, Sunglasses.” The Refund Policy page instead lists: “SALE PRODUCT, BIRKENSTOCK, ESSENTIALS, THE CALIFORNIA, UNDERWEAR/BOXER BRIEFS, SOCKS, SUNGLASSES” — which adds Birkenstock but omits Collaborations and Athletics Footwear. Both pages agree that Essentials, The California, underwear/socks, and Sunglasses are final sale; readers should check the specific product page before assuming either list is complete for a category not common to both.
  • Fear of God lists Essentials (and other categories) as final sale; several BBB complaints and reviews describe customers whose size-related return or exchange requests were refused for this reason, after relying on the published size chart and receiving an item that did not fit as expected.
  • Orders cannot be changed or cancelled once placed. Fear of God’s FAQ states plainly: “Once an order is placed, it cannot be cancelled or changed.” The shipping address likewise cannot be changed after an order is submitted.
  • If a package arrives damaged or open, the FAQ and the Shipping Policy describe the process differently. The FAQ says to “inform our customer support team at [email protected], providing details and photographic evidence” (for damaged or open packages) or “providing your order number and photographic evidence” (for an incomplete or incorrect order). The separate Shipping Policy page instead says: “IF YOU RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE, AND IT IS DAMAGED AND/OR OPENED, PLEASE TAKE A PHOTO OF THE DAMAGE BEFORE CHECKING THE CONTENTS INSIDE. PLEASE SUBMIT A CLAIM VIA THE COURIER USED TO SHIP YOUR ORDER. PLEASE ALSO CONTACT US AT [email protected].” The Shipping Policy version adds two steps the FAQ does not mention — photographing the box before opening it, and filing a claim with the courier — so it is worth following the more detailed Shipping Policy steps.
  • If an order never arrives, the FAQ says to “contact Client Services at [email protected] and initiate a carrier claim,” and warns that “delivery discrepancies must be reported within 14 business days of scheduled delivery” because “claims cannot be processed beyond this period.”
  • Refund timing is stated two different ways. The FAQ says to “allow up to 5-14 business days for the refund to appear on your bank statement.” The Refund Policy page instead says: “ONCE WE ISSUE YOUR REFUND, PLEASE ALLOW 10-14 BUSINESS DAYS FOR THIS TO APPEAR ON YOUR BANK STATEMENT” — a narrower and slightly longer window than the FAQ's. The Refund Policy page also states: “WE DO NOT OFFER CREDIT NOTES OR GIFT CARDS, AND ALL REFUNDS WILL BE RETURNED TO THE ORIGINAL FORM OF PAYMENT. NO EXCEPTIONS. ORIGINAL SHIPPING COSTS PAID AT CHECKOUT ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.”
  • EU right of withdrawal. Both the Refund Policy and Shipping Policy pages state, verbatim: “If you live in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.” Notice must be given before the 14 days expire, using the returns portal or by emailing [email protected]; Fear of God then refunds the order within 14 days of the goods being returned. Neither page states an equivalent right for UK residents specifically.
  • Use the company’s own contact channels. Fear of God’s contact page lists general inquiries at [email protected] and a separate returns portal at returns.fearofgod.com; its FAQ does not publish a customer-service phone number (a phone number appears only on Fear of God’s Better Business Bureau listing, not on fearofgod.com itself).
  • If you don’t get a response, BBB complaints and Trustpilot reviews about this company both describe emails to [email protected] going unanswered for weeks. Keeping order numbers, screenshots, and dated copies of your emails may help if you escalate: for a card payment, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute a billing error in writing, and the card issuer “must acknowledge it in writing” within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days, provided your letter “reaches the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you” (consumer.ftc.gov, “Using Credit Cards and Disputing Charges”); you can also contact your state consumer protection office (listed by state at usa.gov/state-consumer) or, since Fear of God, LLC is based in California, file a complaint with the California Attorney General's office at its consumer-complaint page (oag.ca.gov/contact/consumer-complaint-against-business-or-company).

Company background: Fear of God, LLC and the ESSENTIALS line

Fear of God, LLC is the legal entity behind the Fear of God brand, per the company’s own Terms of Use (“provided by Fear of God, LLC”). U.S. Patent and Trademark Office records list Fear of God, LLC, a California limited liability company at 3940 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Suite 427, Studio City, CA 91604, as the registered owner of both the FEAR OF GOD mark (Reg. No. 7,299,833, registered February 6, 2024, first used in commerce November 1, 2015 per the registration) and the FEAR OF GOD ESSENTIALS mark (Reg. No. 6,380,625, filed March 9, 2018, registered June 8, 2021). The Better Business Bureau’s file for the business, at the same Studio City address, lists “Fear of God, LLC” as an alternate name and “Glenn Milus, CEO” as its business management contact.

According to a Fear of God, LLC anti-counterfeiting complaint quoted by the trade publication The Fashion Law, the company describes itself as “an apparel company that was started by Jerry Lorenzo in 2013” that “specializes in the sale of high-end streetwear and accessories displaying the FEAR OF GOD trademark” and says its name has “become famous throughout the United States and around the world” — the company’s own characterization of its business and reputation, not independently scored here. Separately, the BBB profile's underlying page data records a “businessStart” date of April 17, 1999 and an “incorporated” date of May 13, 2011 for the LLC entity itself (read directly from the page's raw data fields, which are one day ahead of the dates BBB's rendered page text shows in some browsers/time zones); those BBB-reported entity dates predate the 2013 founding date the company gives for the Fear of God brand, and this page does not attempt to reconcile the difference beyond reporting both as each source states them.

ESSENTIALS is Fear of God’s lower-priced line, sold alongside the Fear of God mainline collection on fearofgod.com and, per the company’s own ESSENTIALS Stocklist page, through SSENSE, Selfridges, END Clothing, Mr Porter, IT HK / IT CN, GR8, Nordstrom (USA/Canada) and Pacsun (USA). This page does not verify Fear of God’s own marketing claims about its history, design process, or celebrity following beyond what is quoted and attributed above.

Fear of God’s Terms of Use (last updated March 25, 2026) require most disputes to go through binding, individual arbitration rather than court. The Terms carve out two exceptions: “individual disputes that qualify for small claims court (provided that the small claims court does not permit class or similar representative actions or relief)”, and disputes over intellectual property rights. A customer may opt out of the arbitration requirement entirely “within 30 days of the date you first accepted a version of these Terms by emailing [email protected]”, with a written notice including their full name, mailing address, and email address. Separately, the Terms state that, “to the extent permitted by law, any Claim by you or Fear of God against the other must be included in a Claimant Notice within two years after such Claim arises; otherwise, the Claim is permanently barred.”

Complaint record: USAComplaints, BBB and Trustpilot, reported separately

Different sources track feedback about Fear of God, and this page reports each separately rather than combining them into one figure:

  • USAComplaints: 0 complaints about Fear of God or ESSENTIALS submitted on this site as of September 29, 2026.
  • BBB: Fear of God (Clothing, Studio City, CA) is not BBB Accredited and carries a BBB Rating of F, which BBB’s page attributes to “Failure to respond to 45 complaint(s) filed against business” out of “46 complaint(s) filed against business” overall. BBB’s complaints tab shows 46 complaints in the last three years (20 closed in the last 12 months); every complaint sampled on the complaints tab during this check was marked “Unanswered” and described sizing/fit disputes met with a final-sale refusal, non-delivery, and difficulty reaching customer service. BBB's own rating reason cites “Failure to respond to 45 complaint(s) filed against business” out of “46 complaint(s) filed against business” overall — arithmetically implying 1 of the 46 complaints did receive a response, though BBB does not label which one. BBB’s customer-review score is 1 out of 5 from 13 reviews, all of the visible sample being 1-star and describing similar sizing, non-response, and refund issues.
  • Trustpilot: an unclaimed profile for fearofgod.com showing a TrustScore of 1.5 out of 5 (“Bad”) from 73 reviews. Trustpilot notes the company has “no history of asking for reviews” and that, because of this, “reviews may not be representative.” A sampled review describes a UK customer whose order shipped from the U.S. via a carrier called Global-E, who was initially told an ESSENTIALS item could not be returned, and who was later allowed a one-off return but had a deduction taken from the refund.

BBB’s own page adds this caveat about how to read the numbers above: “BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles... When considering complaint information, please consider the company’s size and volume of transactions. Note that the nature of complaints and a company’s responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.”

Because each source covers a different population, time window, and methodology, none of these figures is added to or averaged with any other.

Lawsuits: Fear of God's own anti-counterfeiting suits, and a website-accessibility case against it

A CourtListener search for federal cases naming “Fear of God, LLC,” rerun September 29, 2026, returned 57 matches (the count fluctuates day to day as CourtListener's index updates). The great majority are lawsuits filed by Fear of God, LLC as plaintiff against alleged sellers of counterfeit or infringing Fear of God and ESSENTIALS merchandise, including a large batch filed in 2026 — many captioned “Fear of God, LLC v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A” in the Northern District of Illinois, plus suits against named individuals and companies in the Central District of California and Eastern District of New York. This type of suit is not new: in an earlier example from 2021, Fear of God, LLC v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule “A” (N.D. Ill., No. 1:21-cv-03894, filed July 22, 2021), the trade publication The Fashion Law reported on the complaint and quoted it directly: the company alleged the defendants used its trademarks “to piggyback on the ‘widespread fame, outstanding reputation, and significant goodwill’ of the Fear of God brand,” and that it had been “irreparably damaged through consumer confusion, dilution, and tarnishment of its valuable trademarks” — allegations from Fear of God’s own 2021 filing, not independent findings, and not evidence about any 2026 case.

In one 2026 case of this type, Fear of God, LLC v. The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A (N.D. Ill., No. 1:26-cv-02991, filed March 17, 2026), the docket shows that Fear of God moved for entry of default and default judgment against the non-appearing Schedule A defendants on April 20, 2026 (docket #36); the court took that motion under advisement the same day, with objections due by May 4, 2026. No defendant responded, and on May 5, 2026 the court granted the motion, entering a default judgment order and a separate final judgment (case terminated that day). The judgment document’s own text, including any monetary amount, was not available through the public docket at the time of this check. A separate, more recently filed case of the same type, Fear of God, LLC v. G Distribution Inc. (E.D.N.Y., No. 1:26-cv-03420, filed June 8, 2026), remains pending: the docket shows an extension of time for the defendant to answer (entered August 26, 2026), a scheduling order and a related order on that extension motion (both August 28, 2026), and a further extension of time to answer with another order on it (both September 24, 2026); no ruling on the merits has been recorded as of this check.

Separately, Fear of God, LLC is the defendant in Diaz v. Fear of God, LLC (S.D.N.Y., No. 1:26-cv-07315), filed August 27, 2026 under the Americans with Disabilities Act’s civil-enforcement provisions by a single plaintiff represented by Joseph & Norinsberg, LLC; the complaint was filed with an attached “Website Error Report” exhibit, consistent with a website-accessibility claim. This is an allegation in a newly filed complaint, not a court finding, and had no ruling recorded as of this check.

Is Fear of God Legitimate?

Fear of God’s Terms of Use identify Fear of God, LLC as the service provider (“provided by Fear of God, LLC”), and the Better Business Bureau lists “Fear of God, LLC” as an alternate name on its file for the Studio City, CA business it profiles — the same address recorded for the owner of the FEAR OF GOD and FEAR OF GOD ESSENTIALS trademarks in USPTO's records. The company sells directly on fearofgod.com and through a specific, named list of retail partners (see Company Background above); sites using its name that are not on that list, such as essentialsfearofgod.us, are simply not named there, which alone does not establish whether they are counterfeiters or something else. Fear of God, LLC has itself filed numerous lawsuits against alleged sellers of counterfeit merchandise (see Lawsuits below). Separately, the company carries an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and an unclaimed, low-scored Trustpilot profile, where complainants describe sizing disputes met with a final-sale refusal and slow or absent responses from [email protected] (see Complaint Record above for the specific figures); it is also currently a defendant in a newly filed website-accessibility lawsuit. This page assigns Fear of God no rating, score, or “scam” label of its own; readers can weigh the complaint and litigation record above for themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Fear of God ESSENTIALS items final sale?

Fear of God’s own FAQ lists Essentials among the categories that are “final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged” — along with Collaborations, Sale, Underwear/boxer briefs/socks, The California, Athletics Footwear, and Sunglasses. The company’s separate Refund Policy page gives a different list: “SALE PRODUCT, BIRKENSTOCK, ESSENTIALS, THE CALIFORNIA, UNDERWEAR/BOXER BRIEFS, SOCKS, SUNGLASSES” — which adds Birkenstock but does not mention Collaborations or Athletics Footwear. Both pages agree that Essentials itself is final sale. Other, non-final-sale domestic orders on fearofgod.com can be returned within 15 days of the shipping date per the FAQ (or within 15 business days of receiving the shipment per the Refund Policy page — see the return-policy question above for that conflict) if unworn, unaltered, and in original packaging with tags attached.

What is Fear of God's return policy?

Fear of God’s FAQ states, verbatim: “Eligible items purchased domestically on fearofgod.com can be returned within 15 days of the shipping date. International returns must be initiated within 28 days of the shipping date. Items must be unworn, unaltered, and in their original packaging with all tags attached.” The company's separate Refund Policy page instead says domestic orders are “ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN WITHIN 15 BUSINESS DAYS OF RECEIVING YOUR SHIPMENT” — a different window (business days from receipt, not calendar days from shipment) that fearofgod.com does not reconcile with the FAQ's wording. Mainline items shipped with a hanger must be returned with the hanger, and shoes need their original box and dust bags. Final-sale categories (see the Essentials FAQ below) are excluded from returns and exchanges regardless of either window. Domestic returns are processed through a third-party service called Returnly; using its prepaid FedEx label deducts a $7.00 fee from the refund, and the Refund Policy page says to “ALLOW 7-14 BUSINESS DAYS FOR ALL RETURNS TO BE PROCESSED” once the item reaches Fear of God's distribution center. Purchases made through a retail partner (SSENSE, Nordstrom, etc.) cannot be returned to Fear of God directly — the Refund Policy page says to contact the original point of purchase instead. Residents of the EU separately have a 14-day right of withdrawal (“If you live in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods”); Fear of God's pages do not state an equivalent right for UK residents specifically. Returns are handled through returns.fearofgod.com or by emailing [email protected]. Once a refund is issued, the FAQ says to “allow up to 5-14 business days” for it to appear on a bank statement, while the Refund Policy page says “10-14 BUSINESS DAYS” from when the refund is issued; the Refund Policy page also states refunds go only to the original payment method (no credit notes or gift cards) and that original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Which retailers are named on Fear of God's ESSENTIALS Stocklist?

Fear of God’s own ESSENTIALS Stocklist page (fearofgod.com/pages/essentials-stocklist), rechecked live on September 29, 2026, names eight retailers: SSENSE (online), Selfridges (London, Birmingham, Manchester), END Clothing (London, Newcastle, Glasgow), Mr Porter (online), IT HK / IT CN (Hong Kong, Shanghai), GR8 (Tokyo), Nordstrom (USA/Canada), and Pacsun (USA). The page itself does not use the word “authorized” and does not list fearofgod.com itself; it does not name any other retailer, online marketplace seller, or independent website.

How do I know if an ESSENTIALS item or website is fake?

Fear of God’s own site does not publish a consumer-facing authentication guide, but it does name a specific, limited list of retailers on its ESSENTIALS Stocklist page (see the retailer question above); a website or marketplace listing using the ESSENTIALS or Fear of God name that is not on that list is simply not named there — that alone does not establish that the site is selling counterfeit goods, only that it is absent from Fear of God’s own stocklist. As one example, a storefront at essentialsfearofgod.us was still selling discounted “Essentials” hoodies and tracksuits when rechecked live on September 29, 2026, and does not appear on fearofgod.com’s own stocklist. Separately, Fear of God, LLC has filed numerous lawsuits alleging that specific named sellers sold counterfeit Fear of God and ESSENTIALS merchandise, including through online marketplaces — allegations from the company’s own filings, not independent findings. If you already bought from a site you now question, keep your order confirmation, payment receipt, and screenshots of the site and its listing, contact the seller directly, and raise a dispute with your card issuer or payment provider if the goods don’t match what was advertised.

What lawsuits has Fear of God filed against counterfeiters?

Fear of God, LLC has filed numerous federal lawsuits, including a large batch in 2026, against alleged sellers of counterfeit Fear of God and ESSENTIALS merchandise, largely in the Northern District of Illinois (many captioned against “The Partnerships and Unincorporated Associations Identified on Schedule A”), the Central District of California, and the Eastern District of New York. In one, No. 1:26-cv-02991 (N.D. Ill., filed March 17, 2026), Fear of God moved for entry of default and default judgment on April 20, 2026; the court took that motion under advisement the same day, and after no defendant responded, granted it and entered a default judgment and final judgment on May 5, 2026, terminating the case. The judgment document’s exact terms were not available through the public docket at the time of this check. These are Fear of God’s own claims and, where noted, a resulting court judgment against defendants who did not appear — not a finding about any specific product a reader may own.

Is Fear of God being sued?

As of this check, Fear of God, LLC is a defendant in Diaz v. Fear of God, LLC (S.D.N.Y., No. 1:26-cv-07315), filed August 27, 2026 under the Americans with Disabilities Act’s civil-enforcement provisions, alleging the company’s website was not accessible to the plaintiff. It was filed with a “Website Error Report” exhibit. This is an allegation in a newly filed complaint, not a court finding, and had no ruling recorded as of September 29, 2026.

How do I contact Fear of God?

Fear of God’s contact page lists general inquiries at [email protected] and a separate returns portal at returns.fearofgod.com; the contact page and FAQ do not publish a customer-service phone number. A phone number, (213) 489-0742, appears on Fear of God’s Better Business Bureau listing but is not published on fearofgod.com itself. Multiple BBB complaints and Trustpilot reviews describe emails to [email protected] going unanswered for extended periods.

Where is Fear of God located?

USPTO trademark records and Fear of God’s Better Business Bureau file both list the address 3940 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Suite 427, Studio City, CA 91604 for Fear of God, LLC. Fear of God’s own site ships domestic orders from a distribution center in Los Angeles, per its FAQ, but does not publish a separate public storefront or office address.

Is Fear of God legit?

Fear of God’s own Terms of Use identify Fear of God, LLC as the service provider, and USPTO records list Fear of God, LLC as the registered owner of the FEAR OF GOD and FEAR OF GOD ESSENTIALS trademarks. It carries an F rating with the Better Business Bureau (46 complaints in three years, not accredited) and an unclaimed, 1.5-out-of-5 Trustpilot profile, where several complainants describe sizing disputes met with a final-sale refusal and slow or absent customer-service responses; it has also filed numerous lawsuits against alleged counterfeit sellers and is currently a defendant in a newly filed website-accessibility lawsuit. This page assigns the company no rating or “scam” label of its own — the complaint and litigation record above is reported so readers can weigh it themselves.

Can I cancel or change a Fear of God order?

Fear of God’s FAQ states plainly: “Once an order is placed, it cannot be cancelled or changed.” The same applies to the shipping address and shipping method — the FAQ says these also cannot be changed after an order is placed, and it advises double-checking shipping information before submitting an order. Separate orders cannot be combined into a single shipment either.

What if my Fear of God order is damaged, wrong, or never arrives?

For a package that arrives damaged or open, Fear of God’s FAQ says to “inform our customer support team at [email protected], providing details and photographic evidence.” For an order that is incomplete or incorrect, it says to email the same address “providing your order number and photographic evidence.” In both cases the company says it will “work to facilitate a resolution.” For an order that never arrives, the FAQ says to “contact Client Services at [email protected] and initiate a carrier claim,” and that “delivery discrepancies must be reported within 14 business days of scheduled delivery” because “claims cannot be processed beyond this period.” Once a return or claim is approved, the FAQ says to “allow up to 5-14 business days for the refund to appear on your bank statement.”

Can I exchange a Fear of God item for a different size?

Fear of God's Refund Policy page states that domestic online purchases of full-priced items are “ELIGIBLE FOR AN EXCHANGE WITHIN 15 DAYS OF RECEIVING YOUR ITEM(S)” and that “FINAL SALE ITEMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR AN EXCHANGE.” International customers can request an exchange the same way, within 15 days of receiving the item, using a prepaid DHL return label once the exchange is approved. If the item you want in exchange is no longer available, the page says to follow the standard return process for a refund instead. The page does not describe an exchange option for discounted (non-full-price) domestic items.

Can I return a Fear of God item I bought at Nordstrom, SSENSE, or another retail partner?

Fear of God's Refund Policy page states, verbatim: “WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS OF FEAR OF GOD PRODUCTS PURCHASED AT OUR RETAILERS PARTNERS. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR ORIGINAL POINT OF PURCHASE.” That means an item bought through a retailer named on Fear of God's ESSENTIALS Stocklist or elsewhere (SSENSE, Selfridges, END Clothing, Mr Porter, IT HK/IT CN, GR8, Nordstrom, or Pacsun) needs to be returned or exchanged through that retailer's own policy, not through fearofgod.com or returns.fearofgod.com.

What can I do if Fear of God doesn't respond to my complaint?

BBB complaints and Trustpilot reviews about this company describe emails to [email protected] going unanswered for extended periods. If you paid by credit card, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute a billing error in writing; per the FTC, your letter must “reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you,” and the issuer “must acknowledge it in writing” within 30 days and resolve it within 90 days. You can also file a complaint with your state's consumer protection office (listed by state at usa.gov/state-consumer), or, since Fear of God, LLC is a California LLC, with the California Attorney General's consumer-complaint page against a business (oag.ca.gov/contact/consumer-complaint-against-business-or-company). BBB itself can also be a venue: this company's BBB file already shows 46 complaints in the last three years.
