Submit a ComplaintBilling and Cancellation Problems: What to Do
Because charges renew automatically and sales are final, timing decides most billing problems. A practical order of steps:
- Cancel at least a day before the bill date. Cancellations must be made before the next Bill Date; for subscription product orders the deadline is 11:59 pm PST the day before the bill date. Cancelling does not stop a charge that is already pending or refund one already processed.
More detailShow less
Items left in the cart when an Add-On, Edit or Themed Sale ends are charged automatically: Add-Ons generally with the season's Box, Edit or Themed Sale orders generally the day after the sale closes.
- Cancel every subscription and keep the confirmation. Use email or live chat through the Help Center, your account (My Account, then Manage Membership, then Cancel Subscription) or a call to (855) 313-6267. A Beauty Edit Box, PupBox or any other separate subscription must be cancelled on its own. Save the confirmation email or a screenshot.
- Report a damaged or incomplete box within two weeks. Section 3.7 of the Terms of Use and Sale requires FabFitFun to receive notice within two weeks of receipt as shown by the carrier; keep photos and the tracking record.
- Ask customer care in writing. Write to [email protected] or use the Help Center chat, give the order number, the charge date and the amount, and attach your cancellation confirmation if you were charged after cancelling. Refunds and replacements are at the company's discretion under the Terms, so a written record matters if you escalate.
- Dispute with your card issuer. For a credit card, the Fair Credit Billing Act lets you dispute a billing error in writing within 60 days after the first statement showing the charge was sent to you.
More detailShow less
Billing errors under the Act include charges you did not authorize and charges for goods not delivered as agreed. Debit cards and payment apps follow their own rules.
- File a complaint. The FTC takes reports at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Your state attorney general handles consumer complaints; FabFitFun is based in California, and the California Attorney General accepts complaints about businesses through oag.ca.gov/consumers. A BBB complaint goes to the company for a response.
Before a formal legal claim, the Terms of Use and Sale require written notice to [email protected] and an informal conference, after which disputes go to individual arbitration or small claims court.
How to Cancel or Swap Box Items
Ways to cancel (Membership Terms, Cancellation Policy). To cancel a Seasonal Box Subscription, Beauty Edit Box Subscription or Shopping Club Subscription, you must do one of the following: "(a) email or livechat us here, indicate that you wish to cancel and follow the instructions that we send you in response; (b) log in to your FabFitFun account, navigate to the My Account link, scroll down to Manage Membership, choose Cancel Subscription, and follow the instructions; or (c) call us at 855-313-6267, indicate that you wish to cancel your Subscription and follow the instructions given."

The Terms of Use and Sale (section 4.3) describe the account route slightly differently: My Account, then the Account Details tab, then Cancel Subscription.
Timing and charges. "There are no cancellation fees. Cancellations must be effected prior to your next Bill Date to avoid further charges." Your Bill Date is the date set in FabFitFun's billing and shipping schedule for the season or year, so cancelling on the Bill Date itself is too late; the safe course is to cancel at least one full day earlier. Seasonal subscribers must cancel before their next seasonal Bill Date; annual subscribers must cancel before the Bill Date for the next annual period, which the Terms describe as the next Bill Date after receipt of their four Boxes. "Cancelling a Subscription does not provide you a refund for payments already processed, nor does it stop a pending charge." Annual subscribers continue to receive any remaining prepaid Seasonal Boxes, and cancellation takes effect for the following billing cycle.
Separate subscriptions. The Membership Terms say that anyone who subscribes to multiple offerings (for example PupBox, the Viral Edit Box, the Men's Box or reFills) must cancel each offering to end the membership, and that additional subscriptions are managed at fabfitfun.com/my-subscriptions.
More detailShow less
Under the separate Subscriptions Terms and Conditions (version 2.4), subscription product orders can be cancelled online or through customer service, and "to avoid any charges, you must cancel your Product Order(s) by 11:59 pm PST the day before the applicable bill date." The Membership Terms also list [email protected] for questions.
Swapping for credit. The plan cards on FabFitFun's homepage list "Swap box products for credit" as a feature of both plans and say up to 3 products per box can be swapped for Shopping Credit.
More detailShow less
The Subscriptions Terms add that a member who is not receiving a box that season (for example by swapping for credit) "will not be charged for or receive any Product Orders scheduled to ship with your FabFitFun Box that season." The Terms point to a billing and shipping schedule on the site for the dates.
Returns, Refunds and Damaged Boxes
No returns. Terms of Use and Sale section 3.6: "We do not allow returns or substitutions of Products or Services to FabFitFun or any FabFitFun brand partners and/or vendors. All sales are final." The Subscriptions Terms and Conditions repeat this: "We do not allow returns of Products. You will not receive a refund for any Products purchased."
Damaged or incomplete shipments. Section 3.7: if you receive a damaged or incomplete shipment, or are otherwise unhappy with a product, contact FabFitFun. "We must receive notice of a damaged or incomplete shipment within two (2) weeks of receipt (as shown on the common carrier's shipping information). Any refunds or replacements are made solely in our discretion."
First box and add-ons. The Membership Terms say a new Seasonal Box subscriber is billed immediately "as a non-refundable minimum purchase" and that items left in the cart at the end of an Add-On, Edit or Themed Sale are charged automatically to the payment method on file.
More detailShow less
Add-Ons are generally billed with the season's Box and Edit or Themed Sale orders the day after the sale closes.
Credits. Promotional Credits "are not redeemable for cash" and are forfeited when a Membership ends (Terms of Use and Sale section 5.2.1).
Class Actions and Arbitration
Free-gift emails (Woytko, 2025). Melissa Woytko filed a putative class action against FabFitFun, Inc. in Snohomish County Superior Court, Washington, on November 17, 2025 (case 25-2-11519-31), under the Consumer Protection Act and the Commercial Electronic Mail Act. The complaint alleges that marketing emails with subject lines offering a free gift or box were misleading because a purchase or paid subscription was required to get the item. The state complaint also appears as an exhibit in a federal docket opened on December 18, 2025 in the Western District of Washington (2:25-cv-02616). The claims are allegations, not findings.
2020 data incident (Gaston). On October 16, 2020 Cheryl Gaston filed a class action in the Central District of California alleging that FabFitFun failed to protect customer data against a 2020 hacking incident that, according to the complaint, compromised payment card information. The parties agreed to a $625,000 class settlement covering about 441,000 consumers: $55 for members whose payment card, login and password data may have been exposed, $25 for login and password data only, $12 for all others, and reimbursement of up to $5,000 for documented losses. FabFitFun also committed to a third-party security risk assessment, multi-factor authentication for customer accounts and additional security personnel. The opt-out deadline was June 16, 2021 and the claim deadline July 31, 2021, so the claim window is closed. The court granted final approval of the settlement on December 6, 2021 and closed the case on December 27, 2021.

Arbitration clause. Section 14 of the Terms of Use and Sale (version 7.27, effective April 16, 2025) requires individual arbitration of covered disputes before ADR Services, Inc. and waives class, collective and representative actions and jury trial. Before either side demands arbitration, the parties must meet by phone or video conference in an informal dispute resolution conference, held within 60 days after written notice; members send that notice to [email protected] (section 14.1). Arbitration takes place in the U.S. county where you live, in Los Angeles County or by phone or video; a claim of $5,000 or less is decided on the documents unless the arbitrator finds "substantial justification and good cause" for a live hearing (section 14.6). Either side may bring an individual small claims action instead (section 14.3). The Terms are governed by U.S. federal law and Delaware law (section 15.1). Under section 14.12, a new user may opt out within 30 days after first accepting the Terms. An existing user can opt out only after a material amendment to the arbitration agreement, within 30 days after the new Terms are posted. The current version took effect on April 16, 2025, so the 30-day window tied to it has closed. The opt-out notice goes to [email protected] or to FabFitFun, Inc., 131 S. Rodeo Drive, Suite 102, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 and must give your name, full street address and the email address on the account. Under section 14.11, a member who does not accept a future material amendment may also close the account within 30 days after the amended terms are posted or notified and is then not bound by them. If arbitration does not apply, claims go to state or federal court in Los Angeles County (section 14.9).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I cancel my FabFitFun membership?
The Membership Terms allow three routes: email or live chat through the Help Center, your account (My Account, then Manage Membership, then Cancel Subscription), or a call to (855) 313-6267. The cancellation must be made before the next Bill Date, so cancel at least a day earlier; subscription product orders must be cancelled by 11:59 pm PST the day before the bill date. There are no cancellation fees, and cancelling does not stop a charge that is already pending.
Does cancelling stop a charge that is already pending?
According to the Membership Terms, cancelling "does not provide you a refund for payments already processed, nor does it stop a pending charge." Annual subscribers still receive any remaining prepaid boxes.
Can I return a FabFitFun box or product?
The Terms of Use and Sale (section 3.6) say returns and substitutions are not allowed and all sales are final.
What if my FabFitFun box arrives damaged or incomplete?
Section 3.7 requires FabFitFun to receive notice within two weeks of receipt, as shown on the carrier's tracking, and says refunds or replacements are made solely at the company's discretion. Contact customer care through the Help Center and keep photos and the tracking record.

An existing user gets the same 30-day opt-out only after a material amendment to the arbitration agreement is posted.
Has FabFitFun been sued?
A 2020 class action over a data security incident (Gaston, Central District of California) ended in a $625,000 class settlement that the court approved on December 6, 2021, without a court ruling on the allegations; the claim deadline passed on July 31, 2021.
