Embody (joinem.co): cancel, stop a charge, ask for a refund, escalate (checked October 11, 2026)
Cancel before the 72-hour cut-off. The Cancellation & Refund Policy (last updated August 25, 2026) says: "Cancellation requests must be received at least 72 hours prior to your next billing date in order to stop the next charge." It names three channels: [email protected], +1 (347) 269-4270, or "your online account/patient portal". A request received inside the 72-hour window is charged under the current billing cycle, and the cancellation takes effect at the start of the next cycle.
The company's pages describe cancellation differently. The Terms (April 24, 2026) say: "You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting support through your JoinEm portal or by replying to any email communications sent from JoinEm", and also state the 72-hour requirement; they do not list a phone number. The home-page FAQ says: "You may cancel your subscription at any time before your next medication shipment to avoid being charged for the upcoming billing cycle" and "To cancel, visit your Patient Portal". The Medical Consent page says programs auto-renew "unless I explicitly request to cancel before my payment is processed". The refund policy is the newest dated of these documents; the 72-hour cut-off is the earliest stated, so a request sent well before it, in writing (email or portal message), with a copy kept, fits all of them.
Read the refund rule before paying. The same policy states: "ALL PAYMENTS FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE", that cancellation "stops future billing only", and that the one exception is a provider-initiated medical disqualification, where the value of services already rendered is deducted from the refund. Multi-month and bundled plans are described as non-refundable "in whole and in part". The Terms (April 24, 2026) say charges recur automatically and appear as "Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc." on a billing statement.
Disputing a charge. The policy asks customers to contact support before starting a card dispute and says a payment dispute does not change the non-refundable terms. A card issuer's own dispute rules are separate from the company's policy.
Medication problems. The policy says damaged or incorrect items are replaced by the pharmacy upon evidence and that replacement is the sole remedy. The FDA page on unapproved GLP-1 drugs says to "Contact the compounder who made the drug or the telehealth platform where you purchased the drug" with questions about instructions or labels, and lists red flags such as medicine that arrives broken, damaged or without instructions. Questions about dose or symptoms go through the patient portal to a clinician; in an emergency call 911 (Contact page).
Escalation routes. Adverse reactions can be reported to FDA MedWatch; billing or advertising complaints to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to the state attorney general. The Terms contain a mandatory arbitration and class-action waiver with a 30-day opt-out (see the legitimacy section).
Regulator and court record for Embody and Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc. (sources checked October 11, 2026)
No FDA warning letter, FTC action, state attorney general action or federal court case naming Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc., Embody, JoinEm, SnagRx or RodeoMeds was identified in the sources checked on October 11, 2026. The checks that returned data: a Justia federal docket party search for "Modern Metabolic Medicine" returned no cases, and a search for "JoinEm" returned only an unrelated suit between two individuals. The FDA warning-letter search page did not load results in the browser used, so that check is not complete (it was also not run for SnagRx, RodeoMeds or the four partner pharmacies); state courts, arbitration, state attorney general and licensing-board records were not searched.
General FDA statements on compounded GLP-1 drugs. These are not findings about Embody. FDA's page says that "compounded drugs are not FDA approved. This means the agency does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are marketed", and that compounded drugs "should only be used in patients whose medical needs cannot be met by an FDA-approved drug". Embody's own pages say its compounded GLP-1s are produced in FDA-regulated facilities but "the medications are not FDA-approved or evaluated for safety, efficacy, or quality".
Who operates Embody and how the service works
The site's Contact page says "Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc. is the legal entity operating Embody (joinem.co)", and the Terms describe it as a Delaware corporation at 1811 Silverside Road, Suite 260, Wilmington, Delaware. The Terms also use the name JoinEm for the platform. BBB's profile for the company, as displayed on October 11, 2026, shows business started and incorporated on December 19, 2025 in its page data, and lists SnagRx, RodeoMeds and Embody as alternate names (BBB also lists snagrx.com and rodeomeds.com under Additional Websites). BBB's profile carries an alert that reads: "1811 Silverside Road is the address of a registered agent / mail forwarding and not the location of this business." The Terms and Contact page give that address as the company's own; the two statements are presented side by side.
Sister brands. The snagrx.com footer reads "© 2026 SnagRx - Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc. All rights reserved." and describes a GLP-1 program (Wegovy and Ozempic trademark notice) with a support phone of (469) 459-3723. The rodeomeds.com footer reads "© 2026 Modern Metabolic Medicine. All rights reserved.", shows (347) 269-4270 and carries a Viagra and Cialis trademark notice. Both footers name OpenLoop Health as the clinician network. Card statements: the Contact page says "If you see that name on a bank statement, an invoice or a piece of post, it is us."
Roles. The home page footer says "Medical treatment is provided by OpenLoop Health, an affiliated network of medical professional corporations and associations", and that an OpenLoop Health clinician decides after checkout whether a patient qualifies for a prescription. The Terms say Modern Metabolic Medicine "is not a medical or mental health provider" and does not manufacture or dispense medications, which "are dispensed by independent third-party pharmacies". The footer lists four partner pharmacies: Red Rock Compounding Pharmacy (St. George, UT), Health Warehouse (Florence, KY), Precision Medicine (Bellmore, NY) and Triad Rx (Daphne, AL). Per the footer, their listed contact numbers are 435-703-2900 (Red Rock), 800-748-7001 (Health Warehouse), 516-833-6262 (Precision Medicine) and 251-380-7630 (Triad Rx). The home-page FAQ says compounded medications are "prepared by state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies"; a pharmacy's state board of pharmacy is a separate complaint route.
Pricing as published. The Terms (April 24, 2026) describe two programs. The Start program lists semaglutide injection at $99 for month 1 and $299 per month from month 2; the Flat program lists semaglutide injection at $199 per month, with 3-, 6- and 12-month bundles at $169, $159 and $149 per month. Other products (gum, tirzepatide) carry different prices. On October 11, 2026 the home page displayed plan cards reading "flat rate at $69/month" (weekly GLP-1) and "flat rate at $119/month" (weekly GLP-1 / GIP) beside a banner "Pre-Black Friday Sale Promo Applied"; the Terms (April 24, 2026) list different prices, and the home-page FAQ says "Pricing varies only by the treatment plan you select (4-, 12-, 24-, or 52-week plans), as shown during checkout." Which price applies to an order is the one shown at checkout; promotions are not part of the Terms.
Complaint record: BBB, Trustpilot, ComplaintsBoard (as displayed October 11, 2026)
Counts are shown as each site displays them on October 11, 2026 and are not added together. Our own archive holds no approved complaints about this company.
- BBB (profile for Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc., Wilmington, DE): rating C-, not BBB Accredited; "199 total complaints in the last 3 years" and 199 filed in the last 12 months; 1.1/5 from an average of 48 customer reviews. BBB's data gives file opened May 5, 2026. The displayed complaints are categorised by BBB, with Billing Issues and Delivery Issues among the types shown; some complaint records show a business response and a resolved status.
- Trustpilot (joinem.co, listed as Embody): 3.8 from 9,582 reviews; claimed profile since February 2026 with a paid subscription; Trustpilot says it does not fact-check reviews, and the page marks some reviews as invited by the company. The page carries an AI-generated summary that Trustpilot says is based on recent reviews.
- ComplaintsBoard: 3 complaints and 2 reviews, 0 marked resolved, first complaint September 13, 2026 and latest October 1, 2026. These are unverified user submissions.
BBB's file lists SnagRx and RodeoMeds as alternate names, so the 199 complaints are not limited to the Embody brand. The service was incorporated, per BBB, in December 2025, so all of these records cover a period of under a year. Reviews on each site differ in how they are collected and cannot be combined into one figure.
Is Embody Legitimate?
The operator is identified on the company's own pages as Modern Metabolic Medicine, Inc., a Delaware corporation that lists a Wilmington, Delaware address, phone (347) 269-4270 and [email protected]. BBB's profile for the company carries an alert that reads: "1811 Silverside Road is the address of a registered agent / mail forwarding and not the location of this business." The company's pages do not state a separate street address for an operating office, and this page did not locate one. Clinical decisions are described as made by OpenLoop Health clinicians and medicines as dispensed by partner pharmacies, with Modern Metabolic Medicine stating it is not a medical provider or pharmacy. This page did not confirm the entity against a Delaware registry record or against state pharmacy or medical-board records, so those role statements rest on the company's own pages; the sources checked are listed in the regulator section.
Contract terms to know. The Terms (April 24, 2026) contain a mandatory arbitration provision administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, a class-action and jury-trial waiver, small-claims carve-out, Delaware governing law, and an opt-out right "within 30 days of the date that you agreed to these Terms" by written notice to the company's Wilmington address or [email protected]. Payments are described as final and non-refundable except for medical disqualification (see the practical section).
Medication status. The company states its compounded GLP-1 medications are not FDA-approved. Embody's pages describe Wegovy and Ozempic as FDA-approved brand drugs, which are different products from compounded versions.
