ElevenLabs complaints: how to cancel, ask for a refund and escalate

Cancel. The Help Center article 'How do I cancel my subscription?' says cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, after which the account moves to the free plan and unused credits are lost.

Its steps: log in at elevenlabs.io, open the profile menu and select Subscription, click Billing, then in Modify Plan select Cancel Plan, Proceed, and Cancel Subscription. The page says a confirmation shows the cancellation 'is scheduled for the end of your current billing cycle' and that Resume subscription can reverse it before then. Keep a screenshot or email of the confirmation. The Terms of Service (Section 6) say: 'Your Recurring Subscription will automatically renew until you cancel it' and that the user authorizes ElevenLabs 'to automatically charge your payment method(s)'. A separate Help Center article, 'Why am I getting a payment attempt after cancelling my subscription?', says that if a user cancels after the current cycle has ended, even if the new invoice has not been paid, the new cycle has already begun and the system will not cancel the subscription until the end of the new cycle.

Refund. The Help Center says a refund is available 'if a request is filed within 14 days of payment and no credit quota was used in the period for which you are seeking the refund'; the request goes by email to [email protected] from the account email address, stating the reason. The Terms of Service (last updated 09 October 2026) say, quoted from the page: 'we will not refund any subscription fees already paid to us' if you cancel before the end of a period, and that 'Prepaid Credits purchases are non-refundable' except where required by applicable law. These two company pages differ in scope, so cite the one that fits your purchase. For purchases made in the ElevenLabs iOS or Android app the Help Center says to cancel using the Apple or Google 'Manage subscriptions' settings and to request a refund 'directly through the App Store or Play Store'; another Help Center article says such a subscription 'is handled entirely by the app store, not ElevenLabs directly', so those requests do not go to [email protected].

Disputes. The Terms contain an arbitration agreement and class action waiver (Section 12). Before arbitration, a user with a Dispute first sends written notice by email to [email protected], and the parties have 30 days to resolve it; the Terms name JAMS as administrator and exclude individual disputes that qualify for small claims court and intellectual-property disputes.

Who operates ElevenLabs

The ElevenLabs Terms of Service (non-EEA version, last updated 09 October 2026, read 2026-10-20) state that the Terms are between the user and Eleven Labs Inc. ('ElevenLabs'). The same page lists the certified-mail address for its copyright agent as 169 Madison Ave #2484, New York, NY 10016. This page does not characterize that address further. The Terms note that other terms apply to users in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK.

On April 16, 2026 the U.S. Joint Economic Committee (minority) published a release stating that Senator Maggie Hassan 'requested information from ElevenLabs, LOVO, Speechify, and VEED about what steps the companies currently take to deter scammers from abusing their tools'.
