Bullfrog Spas warranty, service, dealers and complaints: what to do (checked October 7, 2026)

Start with the dealer that sold the spa. The company's Contact page says: "For all service, water care questions, product function questions, and warranty-related support, your Authorized Bullfrog Spas Retailer is your go-to resource. Please reach out to your local retail store first." The company's Terms of Use say new spas are sold through independently owned authorized dealers, that "Any purchase agreement for a new spa is made directly between you and the authorized dealer," and that Bullfrog Spas "is not a party to such transactions" and is not responsible for dealer pricing, financing or promotions, or for installation, delivery or service performed by dealers. A dispute about price, financing, delivery or a dealer's own statements therefore starts with the dealer; a defect covered by the manufacturer's Limited Warranty is addressed under the warranty text below.

Manufacturer channels (Contact page, opened October 7, 2026).

  • Product support hotline +1 (801) 307-3676, Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM MST, "for product questions that cannot be addressed by your local Authorized Bullfrog Spas Retailer."
  • Contact form for questions "specifically for the manufacturer," answered Monday to Friday 9AM to 5PM MST; the page asks for up to 2 normal business days.
  • Complaints and requests under the Terms of Use: the Terms (section 14, Contact) say "to submit a request or complaint, please contact" Bullfrog International, LC at 7017 W 11800 S, Herriman, UT 84096, phone (801) 556-8111, email [email protected]. The warranty documents print a different main number, (801) 565-8111 (Tel) and (801) 565-8333 (Fax); the two numbers differ in the digits 55 and 65, and the company does not explain the difference.
  • Mailing address: Bullfrog International, LC, 7017 West 11800 South, Herriman, UT 84096.
  • Customer Help Center (help.bullfrogspas.com) for set-up, controls, water care, maintenance, troubleshooting and owner's manuals; warranty registration at bullfrogspas.com/warranty-registration/.

How warranty service works (Limited Warranty text for 2023 model year and later spas, United States and Canada).

  • Coverage is extended "solely to the original end-user purchaser" for spas "installed for residential use," and the warranty says it "terminates upon transfer of spa ownership."
  • "To obtain warranty service, contact your authorized Bullfrog Spas dealer or Bullfrog and submit proof of purchase"; the proof-of-purchase requirement "may be waived if Bullfrog's or the dealer's records can confirm" the purchase date and that you are the original purchaser.
  • Bullfrog "reserves the right, at its option, to either repair or replace" a defective spa or component. Any spa or component sent to the factory "must be preauthorized by Bullfrog and must be freight prepaid."
  • The owner is responsible for clear access and for "non-standard costs" of accessing or removing the spa (examples in the text: a vault, an upper deck needing a crane), and "In some situations, the servicing dealer or Bullfrog may charge Owner a reasonable service fee."
  • Replacement and repair costs for the owner. The U.S. and Canada warranty texts say: "If a replacement spa or component is provided by Bullfrog, Owner will be responsible for all costs for removal and replacement of the defective product, mileage charges, shipping costs of the replacement product, and delivery." They also say that "Any repair or replacement component or spa does not receive new or extended warranty coverage but is covered only under the remaining portion of the original product's warranty term," and that if a replacement spa's current market price is higher than the original spa's, the owner must pay an upgrade fee or choose a spa comparable to the original market price. The M/A/STIL, Swim and X texts add that after seven years from purchase a structure or frame failure is repaired at the owner's expense, with the spa sent to Bullfrog (the Calm text refers to a failure after the warranty term).
  • Registration: "Prompt return of a completed warranty registration form will help protect your warranty rights. Registration requirements do not apply to residents of California or other jurisdictions where prohibited by law."

Things that can affect a claim. The Limited Warranty lists circumstances in which it "is void," including neglect, misuse or abuse; repair work by anyone other than an authorized agent of Bullfrog; use "in a non-residential or commercial location (including where a spa may be used by multiple residents of an apartment or townhome complex)"; improper water chemistry; operating outside 40F to 110F; and failure to provide a proper foundation. The company's Delivery & Installation page adds: "Structural damage to the spa resulting from incorrect installation, placement on an inadequate foundation, or improper leveling will void the spa's warranty." The Terms of Use state that listings of Bullfrog Spas products on online marketplaces by third parties are unauthorized and that such purchases "may void applicable warranties."

Which warranty applies. The U.S. and Canada warranty documents on the company's Warranty page cover spas of the 2023 model year and later (manufactured on or after February 1, 2023 for the M, A, STIL, X and Swim Series; on or after January 1, 2026 for Calm). Warranty terms for spas made before those dates were not found on the page checked on October 7, 2026, so owners of older spas should ask the dealer or the manufacturer for the document that applies to their serial number and purchase date.

If the dealer and manufacturer do not resolve it. Keep the sales contract, delivery paperwork, registration confirmation and dated photos or service records. You can file a complaint with the BBB (a profile exists, see the complaint section), with your state attorney general's consumer protection office, and, if you paid by card, ask your card issuer about its dispute process. The Terms of Use contain a negotiation, mediation and American Arbitration Association arbitration clause (Salt Lake County, Utah) for disputes "arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site"; the Limited Warranty text and dealer sales contracts are separate documents, and the warranty text read here does not mention arbitration. This page is not legal advice.

Product-safety, NAD and regulator records checked for Bullfrog Spas

CPSC recalls. On October 7, 2026 the SaferProducts.gov recall web service was queried by product name "Bullfrog" and, separately, by recall title and by manufacturer "Bullfrog"; none returned a recall of a Bullfrog Spas hot tub or swim spa (the product-name query returned one unrelated 2009 children's book recall). The CPSC "Product Safety Warnings" listing file (product_safety_warning_listing.csv, 373 rows, downloaded from cpsc.gov on October 7, 2026) contains no row mentioning "Bullfrog". Consumer incident reports at SaferProducts.gov (the public incident search form) and the records of other agencies were not searched, and a company with no recall on record can still have product problems that owners report. If you have a safety incident, SaferProducts.gov is the CPSC's public reporting site.

Company safety statements. The company's Safety & Certifications page says all Bullfrog Spas "have been tested using the most stringent standards following the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and International Electrical Commission (IEC) specifications" and that "All Bullfrog Spas have been tested, certified, and safety listed with the TUV America mark." These are company statements. The Delivery & Installation page gives foundation and electrical guidance and says a filled portable spa can weigh as much as 6,000 lbs and a swim spa close to 20,000 lbs.

Advertising self-regulation: NAD Case #7384 (January 29, 2025). BBB National Programs publishes a decision summary titled "NAD Recommends Bullfrog Modify or Discontinue Comparative Claims." This is a decision of the National Advertising Division, an advertising industry self-regulatory body, in a challenge brought by a competitor, Jacuzzi Group; it is not a government enforcement action and no monetary penalty is stated in the summary. According to the summary, Jacuzzi challenged claims made on Bullfrog's website, YouTube, sales sheets and through third-party dealers comparing Bullfrog spas with "conventional" hot tubs. NAD determined that the evidence "did not support" the challenged claims conveying that Bullfrog offers more personalization options than competitors; that there was "no reliable evidence of the relative power" of Bullfrog spas or competitors; that the comparative energy-saving claims "were not supported"; and that it found "no evidence to support the challenged durability claims" comparing the ABS "Endurabase" frame with wood or metal frames. NAD recommended that Bullfrog discontinue those claims or modify them to describe the advantages of its design without unsupported comparisons. In its advertiser statement Bullfrog said it "respectfully disagrees with certain aspects of NAD's decision and stands by the veracity of the general product advantage assertions" and that it will comply with the decision (BBB National Programs page opened October 7, 2026).

Other government regulators. No state attorney general or FTC action naming Bullfrog Spas or Bullfrog International was identified in the web search run on October 7, 2026 or in the CourtListener search described in the litigation section; that statement covers only those searches.

Who operates Bullfrog Spas, history and products

Who operates Bullfrog Spas. The company's Terms of Use say its websites are "operated by Bullfrog International, LC," and its About page says "Bullfrog International, LC is the parent company of the Bullfrog Spas hot tub and swim spa brand" and "a privately held company." The Utah Division of Corporations search shows BULLFROG INTERNATIONAL, LC as a Domestic Limited Liability Company, status Active / Current, file date 06/07/1996, entity number 2025792-0160 (opened October 7, 2026). The company's address is 7017 West 11800 South, Herriman, Utah 84096.

History and size (company statements). The company's press release of September 3, 2026 (30th anniversary) says it has about 590 employees, has produced nearly 280,000 spas over 30 years, sells through authorized dealers in the United States and international markets, expanded its European presence in 2025 and launched the Calm Series in 2026. Dan Sjoblom is named as CEO in that release. These figures are the company's own and were not independently verified.

Products. The company's site lists the M Series, A Series, X Series, Calm, STIL and Swim Series. Its patented JetPak Therapy System uses modular jetted seats that owners can swap or upgrade. The History page says STIL was introduced in cooperation with Villeroy & Boch and that the company was selected in 2003 to private-label spas with JetPaks for Villeroy & Boch in Europe; the Safety page lists separate declarations for 'Bullfrog Spas/Villeroy & Boch Spas.' Retail terms (price, financing, delivery, installation, service calls) are set by independent dealers per the Terms of Use; the Terms also refer to "Bullfrog Spas retail locations" and the company-operated site bullfrogfactorystores.com.

Ownership. The pages checked on October 7, 2026 (About, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and the 2026 press release) describe Bullfrog International, LC as privately held and do not name a parent company or a recent acquirer.

Court dockets naming Bullfrog International

A CourtListener search by case name "Bullfrog International" on October 7, 2026 returned three dockets. Two are described below from their docket entries; the docket text does not state the legal claims in either, and this section does not infer them. The search covered federal and bankruptcy dockets in CourtListener's database only; state-court cases and cases captioned differently were not searched.

  • Burningham v. Bullfrog International, No. 2:17-cv-00790 (D. Utah): complaint filed July 13, 2017 by Samuel Burningham against Bullfrog International; a notice of settlement was filed August 28, 2017, a motion and notice of voluntary dismissal on September 1, 2017, and the docket shows the civil case terminated on September 5, 2017.
  • Bullfrog International v. Cal Spas, No. 2:16-cv-00050 (D. Utah): filed January 21, 2016 by Bullfrog International as plaintiff (the company filed this case; it is not a consumer claim against it). The docket records reports sent to the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction (hearing held September 29, 2016) and, on January 17, 2017, a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice; the court entered the order dismissing the case with prejudice on January 18, 2017.

The third result, King v. Bullfrog International, No. 05-01829 (Bankr. D. Colo., filed October 2005, terminated August 2006), appears on CourtListener without information tying it to this company, so it is not described here.

Bullfrog International, LC is on the Utah business register as an Active / Current domestic LLC (file date June 7, 1996), operates the Bullfrog Spas hot tub and swim spa brand from 7017 West 11800 South, Herriman, Utah, and is listed by the BBB as Accredited with an A+ rating as displayed on October 7, 2026 (29 complaints in the last 3 years on that file). No CPSC recall of a Bullfrog Spas product was found in the recall web service queried that day, BBB National Programs' NAD recommended in January 2025, in a competitor's challenge, that Bullfrog discontinue or modify certain comparative advertising claims (Bullfrog said it will comply), and the dockets found in the litigation search are a 2017 case dismissed after a notice of settlement and a 2016-2017 case the company filed itself. Retail sale terms depend on the independent dealer; warranty rights depend on the Limited Warranty that applies to the spa's model year, the original-purchaser and residential-use conditions, installation and maintenance. This page does not rate the company or predict how a particular claim will be handled.
