Blue Apron problems: contact, skip, cancel, refund and escalate (checked October 14, 2026)

Blue Apron is run, per its Terms and Conditions (last updated October 31, 2025), by Blue Apron, LLC. The Terms describe three ways to buy: single (non-subscription) Meal Purchases, Autoship subscriptions that ship on a schedule you choose, and the Blue Apron+ membership, which the Terms say renews automatically and is billed until the customer cancels

Contact. The Help Center article "How do I contact customer service?" (updated August 31, 2026) lists an online request form, a text line at (929) 799-8354, and phone lines at 1 (888) 278-4349 (toll-free) and (646) 891-4349 (local), with the hours shown there. The Terms give [email protected] for refund and credit requests.

Naming. The Terms (updated October 31, 2025) call the scheduled plan "Autoship"; current Help Center articles and a July 2026 company blog post call scheduled deliveries "Subscribe & Save". This page uses the company's wording from each source.

Skip or cancel Autoship. The Terms (section 4.2) say you may skip an Autoship order "as often as you'd like" on your Upcoming page and may cancel any Blue Apron subscription online at any time. They add that "you must cancel your Blue Apron+ subscription prior to your scheduled billing date" to avoid the next charge and that Autoship orders shown as "Processing" or "Shipped" on the Upcoming page cannot be cancelled.

Cancel Subscribe & Save. The Help Center article "Can I cancel my Subscribe & Save deliveries at any time?" says: Go to Account, go to Subscribe & Save, tap Cancel Plan and follow the prompts to confirm, and adds "There is no cancellation fee". The company's July 6, 2026 blog post says cutoff times for changing or skipping an order vary by location and can be viewed on the Orders page.

Cancel Blue Apron+. For Subscribe & Save the Help Center says to go to Account, then Subscribe & Save, tap Cancel Plan and confirm, with no cancellation fee. For a Blue Apron+ membership it says to go to Account, then Blue Apron+, tap Cancel Membership and follow the prompts; benefits remain active until the end of the current billing cycle.

Free trials. Under section 4.5, a free trial converts to paid billing unless you cancel before it ends, and the Terms say you will not receive a notice that the trial has ended.

Missing, damaged or unsatisfactory items. Section 4.12 asks you to contact Blue Apron within seven days of receiving the meal; the company may, in its sole discretion, replace the item, refund all or part of its price or give Credits. The Help Center article on missing or unusable items repeats the seven-day window, asks for a photo of damaged or freshness-affected items, and says: "While we aren't able to send replacement meals or ingredients, we'll work with you to make it right." The two company pages are presented side by side: the Terms list replacement as a discretionary remedy, while the Help Center article says replacement shipments are not available. Section 4.10 recommends a thermometer reading of 40° F or below for meat, poultry or seafood and says to contact the company and discard the item if the temperature is above 40° F or it is otherwise unsuitable for consumption. Credits are described as promotional and not redeemable for cash, and they expire if the account is closed.

If the company does not resolve it. Report to your card issuer or bank within its dispute window, to the state attorney general's consumer office, to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, and, for food safety, to the FDA or USDA. A complaint can also be filed with the BBB, which shows its own count below.

Arbitration. Section 18 requires most disputes to go to individual arbitration before JAMS in New York County with a class-action waiver; small-claims court is excluded. Accounts created for the first time on or after June 14, 2023 may opt out by written notice within 30 days of becoming subject to the provisions, sent by certified mail to the New York address in the Terms.
