Best Egg is the consumer brand of a group of Marlette entities; BBB lists it as a BBB Accredited business with an A+ rating, and Best Egg's pages state that its personal loans are made by Cross River Bank or Column N.A. A May 1, 2026 Barclays release says Barclays Bank Delaware completed its acquisition of Best Egg, Inc. The record on this page also includes a 2020 Colorado settlement and a December 2024 Nebraska consent agreement, each stating that it is not an admission, and two Pennsylvania lawsuits that ended in dismissals. Complaints in the CFPB database are unverified consumer submissions, and the largest categories relate to credit reporting. Check the lender and terms in your own loan agreement, and use the CFPB, your state regulator or the BBB if the company's own channels do not resolve a problem.

Submit a ComplaintBest Egg payments, hardship and complaint routes: what the company's own pages say (checked October 22, 2026)
Best Egg's pages and help center, opened on October 22, 2026, give the routes on this page. Rates, fees and terms depend on your application and your own loan agreement, which governs.
Contact. The Contact page lists 1-855-282-6353 for personal loans (Monday-Thursday 8am to 10pm ET, Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm; "Holiday hours may differ") and 1-833-707-1226 for the Best Egg credit card.

Correspondence for personal loans goes to Best Egg, PO Box 42912, Philadelphia, PA 19101; the Contact page lists separate payment addresses, including PO Box 207865, Dallas, TX 75320-7865 for personal loans. The Contact page's personal-loan email is [email protected]. The site footer lists a complaint contact at [email protected].
If you cannot make a payment. The help-center article updated December 9, 2025 says: "If you're unable to make a payment, feel free to reach out by phone or chat with a live agent," mentions adjusting the payment due date or switching to a bi-weekly schedule, and adds "If you're experiencing financial hardship, you may be eligible for payment assistance."
More detailShow less
It lists phone, live chat in the Best Egg account (Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-9:00 pm ET, Friday 9:00 am-7:00 pm ET, Saturday 9:00 am-6:00 pm ET) and [email protected]. A separate article says Best Egg "does not offer a formal loan 'pause' or deferment program" but that hardship payment assistance may be available. Another says Best Egg "does not currently offer a grace period" and that "we do not charge late fees currently". Ask for any assistance terms in writing.
Costs and prepayment. The personal-loan page says loans carry "an origination fee of 0.99%-9.99% of your loan amount", APRs "range from 6.99%-35.99%", terms run 36 to 60 months, amounts range from $2,000 to $50,000, and "Best Egg loans can be pre-paid at any time without penalty." It says checking a rate "won't impact your credit score" and that accepting an offer produces a hard inquiry.
Who lends. The site says "Best Egg loans are personal loans made by Cross River Bank, a New Jersey Chartered Bank" or by Column N.A. If a dispute concerns the loan itself, the bank named in your loan agreement is the lender of record; Best Egg's own pages describe Marlette entities as service provider and servicer.
Credit reporting disputes. Credit-report problems are the largest category in the CFPB figures listed in the complaint record section. If a reported balance, payment history or account status looks wrong, you can dispute it with the credit bureau that issued the report and with the company that reports the account, and you can file a CFPB complaint.
Where loans are offered. The personal-loan page says "Best Egg products are not available if you live in Iowa, Nebraska, Vermont, West Virginia, the District of Columbia or U.S. Territories" and that Massachusetts residents have a minimum loan amount of $6,500, Ohio $5,001 and Georgia $3,001.

It also says the origination fee "will be deducted from any loan proceeds you receive", so the amount deposited is lower than the amount borrowed.

Outside routes. You can submit a complaint about a personal loan or credit report to the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov/complaint/, to your state attorney general or state financial regulator, or to the BBB. The site footer says the lender is licensed and regulated by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department and lists that division's complaint number, (505) 476-4885.
Best Egg regulator matters (Colorado 2020, Nebraska 2024)
Two state-regulator matters are described on this page, from primary documents opened on October 22, 2026. Neither is a finding of fraud, and each document states its own limits.
More on regulatorsShow less
Colorado, August 2020. On August 18, 2020 the Colorado Attorney General announced a settlement of two lawsuits over interest-rate limits. The announcement says the Attorney General "alleged that non-banks Avant and Marlette illegally partnered with two out-of-state banks—WebBank and Cross River Bank, respectively—in a scheme to “rent” those banks' ability to lend above Colorado's rate limits." Under it, the companies committed not to lend to Colorado consumers "at rates above 36%"; non-bank partners "will maintain a Colorado lending license"; and the companies pay $1,050,000 to the State plus a $500,000 contribution to the MoneyWi$er financial-education program. In the Assurance of Discontinuance (the copy opened has the day of August left blank) Marlette Funding, LLC, Avant, the banks and trust entities are parties; it states: "this is a compromise of claims and not an admission of any liability or wrong-doing. Defendants deny any liability," and the payment of $1,050,000 is described as made by the "Banks and Defendant FinTechs" collectively. The Marlette side is the case Fulford v. Marlette Funding, LLC, No. 17CV30376 (Colo. Dist. Ct., Denver County). This page does not state what share of the payments was Marlette's.
Nebraska, December 2024. A Consent Agreement between the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance and Marlette Servicing, LLC (NMLS No. 1849345), signed December 18, 2024, says Marlette Servicing "[a]s of the date of execution of this Consent Agreement ... does not make or originate loans, nor does it assess additional fees, charges, or interest directly to customers located in Nebraska" (Best Egg's personal-loan page separately says its products are not available to residents of Nebraska), that the Director alleges it violated Neb. Rev. Stat. section 45-1004(1)(b), and that in its September 15, 2023 license application it "reported activity that the Director alleges required a Nebraska Installment Loan License." Marlette Servicing agreed to pay a $5,000 fine and $1,000 investigation costs, and the agreement states it "does not constitute an admission of violations of or liability under the Act."
Federal agencies. The CFPB's enforcement-actions database returned no results for "Marlette" on October 22, 2026.

Henry v. Marlette Funding, LLC, No. 2:21-cv-00985 (W.D. Pa.). Marlette Funding removed the case from the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County (No. GD-21-007229) on July 26, 2021 and moved to compel individual arbitration. On March 29, 2022 the court denied the second motion to compel and ordered limited discovery on the validity of the arbitration agreement; a third motion followed on May 27, 2022. On December 9, 2022 the court dismissed that motion without prejudice because the parties were finalizing a resolution. A notice of settlement was filed January 16, 2023 (terms not on the docket), and on January 30, 2023 the court granted a stipulation of dismissal with prejudice.
Happy v. Marlette Funding, LLC, No. 1:23-cv-00265 (W.D. Pa.). Filed September 6, 2023 by two individual plaintiffs. On August 9, 2024 the court granted Marlette Funding's motion to compel individual arbitration, directed the parties to arbitrate on an individual basis, stayed the case and closed it administratively. On January 8, 2025 the court granted the plaintiffs' stipulation of dismissal with prejudice.
A separate Delaware federal docket, Moore v. Marlette Funding, LLC, No. 1:25-cv-01389 (D. Del.), captions the defendant as "Marlette Funding, LLC doing business as Best Egg, Inc." on Justia (opened October 22, 2026); this page did not review its filings beyond the disclosure statements and states no status for it.
See the regulator section for the Colorado and Nebraska matters, which are not court cases on this page.

Ownership. A Barclays release dated May 1, 2026 says Barclays Bank Delaware, operating as Barclays US Consumer Bank, "has successfully completed the acquisition of Best Egg, Inc." and that the business "will continue to operate under the 'Best Egg' brand and be managed by Barclays US Consumer Bank." Court disclosure statements filed in 2021 and 2023 identified Marlette Holdings, Inc. as the corporate parent of Marlette Funding, LLC. In a December 3, 2025 amended disclosure statement in a Delaware federal case (Moore v. Marlette Funding, LLC, No. 1:25-cv-01389, as shown on Justia), Marlette Funding, LLC identified Best Egg, Inc. as its corporate parent, and a November 14, 2025 statement in the same case had named Marlette Holdings, Inc.; this page reports what the filings say and does not describe the corporate structure beyond them.
Location. BBB lists the business at 3419 Silverside Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810 and the Nebraska consent agreement gives the same street address for Marlette Servicing, LLC. Best Egg's own pages do not label a headquarters.
