Aritzia

Aritzia is a Vancouver, Canada-based women's fashion retailer that sells online at aritzia.com and through boutiques across North America, under its own portfolio of brands including TNA, Wilfred, Babaton, Denim Forum and Sunday Best. The U.S. website and app are operated by United States of Aritzia Inc. under Aritzia's US Terms of Use, and Aritzia's public parent, Aritzia Inc., trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: ATZ). Aritzia's BBB profile for its Vancouver headquarters (filed as Aritzia LP) carries a rating of F, citing failure to respond to complaints, with 330 complaints in the last three years and an average of 1 out of 5 from 34 customer reviews; a separate, unclaimed Trustpilot profile for aritzia.com shows a TrustScore of 1.5 from 206 reviews. Several individual lawsuits allege aritzia.com is inaccessible to blind users under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and a copyright-infringement lawsuit brought by fidget-toy maker Tangle Inc. remained in active litigation as of September 29, 2026, with a motion for summary judgment filed September 25, 2026 still awaiting a ruling. No complaints about Aritzia have been filed on USAComplaints as of this review.

Ordered from Aritzia and something went wrong? What to check

Aritzia's own Returns & Exchanges page states that for online orders of regular-priced merchandise, "Within 14 days from the shipping date, you can receive a full refund to the original method of payment. Within 30 days from the shipping date, you can exchange your item or return for merchandise credit on a Digital Gift Card. After 30 days, we will no longer accept returns." For sale merchandise, items discounted less than 50% follow the same 14-day/credit rules, but "Sale items marked with a discount of 50% or greater are final sale." A further list of items is final sale regardless of discount: "Sale items marked at 50% off or greater; Intimates and Shapewear; Hosiery; Face Masks; The Super Puff™ Personalized; Salt & Stone; Gift Cards." The same page separately notes: "Please note — swim tops, bottoms, one pieces and accessories can only be returned online."

If you checked out as a guest (not signed into an Aritzia account), the company's page states an $8.00 postage fee (plus tax) is deducted from a mailed-back return's refund; it is free if you were signed in. Orders paid with PayPal that are mailed back are refunded only to the original PayPal account, and an in-store return of a PayPal purchase becomes an exchange or merchandise credit rather than a refund. Orders paid with Klarna that are mailed back are likewise refunded only to the original Klarna account; for an in-store Klarna return that meets Aritzia's standard Return & Exchange Policy, the company's page states "we'll refund your credit card or debit card, offer an exchange or issue merchandise credit," while noting that "subsequent installments to Klarna may still be required." If you're returning items from more than one order, Aritzia's page asks that you "contact Aritzia Concierge to set up your return" rather than mailing them together. Aritzia's page also states you can cancel an order "within 30 minutes of placing" through Order History or Order Tracking.

  • Find your shipping-date and order-type (regular vs. sale, and the discount percentage) before assuming a return or refund is owed — Aritzia's final-sale rules turn on the discount tier, and swim tops, bottoms, one-pieces and accessories can only be returned online, not in store.
  • Contact Aritzia Concierge at 1-855-ARITZIA (274-8942), Monday-Sunday 6:00am-9:00pm PST, or by live chat or email through aritzia.com/us/en/contact-us, for an order, return, or payment problem.
  • If an item arrives missing, wrong, or damaged, Aritzia's Concierge team reviews the claim; complainants whose accounts are published on BBB and Trustpilot (below) describe these claims being denied as not meeting the company's "internal conditions" — keep photos, order confirmations, and any chat/email transcripts from the moment you open the package. For a damaged shipping box specifically, Aritzia's shipping page says to "accept the delivery and contact Aritzia Concierge."
  • If tracking shows "delivered" but you never received the package, some complainants whose accounts are published on BBB describe Aritzia's response pointing to the carrier's delivery confirmation as the basis for denying a refund or replacement; Aritzia's own shipping page notes a tracking number can take "up to 72 hours" to activate. Consider documenting your building/mailroom's own records and your card issuer's dispute process if Aritzia's internal review does not change the outcome.
  • If you refuse a delivery without Aritzia's authorization, its shipping page states "you'll be responsible for all shipping charges" for that order.
  • Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or a P.O. Box: Aritzia's shipping page states orders to Alaska and Hawaii "can only be shipped via Standard Shipping," free for signed-in clients and $22 for guests, and that Aritzia is "unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO and US Territories at this time."
  • Gift cards "may not be redeemed for cash or refunded unless required by law," per Aritzia's Returns & Exchanges page, and a returned item bought with a gift card is refunded back onto a gift card as merchandise credit, not cash.
  • Price adjustments: no U.S. price-adjustment policy was located on Aritzia's official pages checked for this profile; contact Concierge directly if you believe you were charged more than the price displayed on an item.
  • If Aritzia's response leaves you unsatisfied, you can file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, leave a review on Trustpilot, dispute a credit-card charge with your card issuer (the FTC's consumer guidance notes a letter disputing a billing error should reach the card issuer "within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you"), or contact your state's consumer protection office via USA.gov's directory. Separately, Aritzia's Terms of Use require 45 days of "Informal Dispute Resolution" (a written notice to [email protected], with an optional phone conference) before either side can start arbitration or a small-claims case, and give a new customer "the right to opt out of the provisions of this Arbitration Agreement" by written notice "within thirty (30) days after first becoming subject" to it.

Company background and corporate structure

Aritzia's investor-relations site describes the company as "a design house with an innovative global platform," stating it was "Founded in 1984 in Vancouver, Canada," and that it operates "140+ boutiques throughout North America" in addition to aritzia.com and its app. Aritzia's public parent, Aritzia Inc., trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under ticker ATZ.

Beneath that public parent, the Better Business Bureau's headquarters file for the Vancouver head office (118-611 Alexander Street, Vancouver, BC) is registered to Aritzia LP, listing "TNA," "Wilfred," and "Babaton" as alternate names — these are in-house brand names Aritzia sells under, not separate outside companies. Aritzia's own U.S. Terms of Use identify a further, U.S.-specific entity: "These Terms of Use are a legal agreement between you and United States of Aritzia Inc. ("Aritzia") regarding your access to and use of the Aritzia website located at www.aritzia.com." The same Terms of Use give a Vancouver notice address ("#118 - 611 Alexander Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada V6A 1E1") and designate the substantive law of the State of New York, with disputes subject to arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association. This page does not independently verify the exact corporate-law relationship (parent, subsidiary, or division) among Aritzia Inc., Aritzia LP, and United States of Aritzia Inc. beyond what each of these sources states on its own.

The Terms of Use list Aritzia's house brand and trademark names as "ARITZIA, TEN ARITZIA, GOLDEN ARITZIA, TNA, BABATON, WILFRED, WILFRED FREE, LITTLE MOON, DENIM FORUM, SUNDAY BEST, THE SUPER PUFF."

Aritzia's U.S. website auto-detects a visitor's country by IP address; this profile's research had to use the site's own "Change Your Shipping Country" control and select "Shop USA" to reach the actual U.S. storefront (aritzia.com/us/en) that the policy pages quoted throughout this profile were read from, rather than the non-U.S. "Aritzia INTL" storefront that loaded by default.

Complaint record: USAComplaints, BBB and Trustpilot, reported separately

Three sources track complaints and reviews about Aritzia, reported here separately rather than combined into one figure. Every BBB profile, including this one, carries BBB's own standard disclaimer: "BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles."

  • USAComplaints: 0 complaints submitted about Aritzia on this site as of September 29, 2026.
  • BBB: the Better Business Bureau's headquarters profile for Aritzia LP (Vancouver, BC, filed under BBB, British Columbia & Yukon) is not BBB accredited and carries a BBB Rating of F, with BBB's stated "Reasons for rating" being "Failure to respond to 22 complaint(s) filed against business" and "21 complaint(s) filed against business that were not resolved." BBB shows 330 complaints in the last three years (182 closed in the last 12 months) and a customer-review score of 1 out of 5 from 34 reviews. Complaint texts BBB displays (checked in September 2026) describe missing or wrong items in shipments, damaged merchandise, deliveries to a wrong address despite a "delivered" tracking status, a warehouse-sale double charge, a price-tag/register pricing discrepancy the company acknowledged but refunded only as store credit rather than to the original payment method, and several customers reporting Aritzia restricted their online account from placing further orders after they filed missing-item or return claims. A separate BBB listing exists for a Boston, MA boutique; that listing's own "Reasons for rating" states only "Complaints against this business are handled by another BBB," without naming which BBB file that is. This profile's BBB figures are drawn from the Vancouver headquarters profile, which is Aritzia LP's BBB Accreditation & Rating file for its head office.
  • BBB alert: Aritzia LP's BBB profile displays one alert, dated June 23, 2023: a consumer reported to BBB's Scam Tracker that they "paid for an order on a website called Bestwaersmall at https://bestwaersmall.store/ but did not receive the product," and that "the website looked very similar to the official Aritzia website and sold some of the same products but at a much lower sale discount." BBB says it asked Aritzia about a possible affiliation, left a voicemail and sent two letters, and "as of July 26, 2023 has not heard back from the business"; BBB states it "cannot confirm the legitimacy of Bestwaersmall" and that "Aritzia's name may be used by scammers." This alert concerns a third-party look-alike website, not a complaint about Aritzia's own conduct.
  • Trustpilot: an unclaimed profile for aritzia.com shows a TrustScore of 1.5 ("Bad") from 206 reviews, with Trustpilot's own banner noting Aritzia has "no history of asking for reviews" and that "reviews may not be representative." Trustpilot's review summary, labelled on the page “Created with AI, based on recent reviews,” states: “Considering 94 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently reported receiving incorrect items, missing packages, and encountering extremely unhelpful customer support when trying to resolve frustrating shipping mistakes. Many reviewers were deeply frustrated by the strict return policies, noting that refund requests were routinely denied and forcibly replaced with restrictive store credit. However, some customers also noted that the clothing itself can be beautifully designed, exceptionally warm, and crafted from high quality materials. A few other people also felt that when orders successfully arrived without any complications, the delivered products completely exceeded expectations and fit wonderfully.” A separate Trustpilot profile for aritzia.ca (Canada) shows a different score (1.7 from 312 reviews) and is not used here, since this profile covers U.S. customers.

Because each source covers a different population, time window, and methodology, none of these figures is added to or averaged with any other.

Lawsuits naming Aritzia entities

A CourtListener search for federal cases naming "Aritzia," run September 29, 2026, returned 14 results. All of the following are allegations from filed complaints, not court findings, except where a dismissal, settlement, or other disposition is specifically noted.

Website-accessibility lawsuits. Most of the results are individual lawsuits under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, each alleging aritzia.com was inaccessible to a blind or visually impaired plaintiff using screen-reader software and seeking permanent injunctive relief: Iantosca v. Aritzia Inc. (E.D.N.Y., No. 2:19-cv-02925, filed 2019); Nixon v. Aritzia Illinois, LLC (E.D.N.Y., No. 1:18-cv-06339, filed 2018); Calcano v. United States of Aritzia, Inc. (S.D.N.Y., No. 1:19-cv-11378, filed 2019); Espinoza v. United States of Aritzia Inc. (S.D. Fla., No. 1:22-cv-22386, filed 2022); Hanyzkiewicz v. United States of Aritzia, Inc. (E.D.N.Y., No. 1:22-cv-01196, filed 2022); Petersen v. United States of Aritzia Inc. (S.D. Fla., No. 1:23-cv-20044, filed January 5, 2023); Dalton v. United States of Aritzia, Inc. (D. Minn., No. 0:25-cv-00624, filed 2025); Jaida Jerotz v. United States of Aritzia Inc. (C.D. Cal., No. 2:25-cv-10790, filed November 10, 2025); Herrera v. United States of Aritzia, Inc. (S.D. Fla., No. 1:26-cv-22245, filed March 31, 2026); and Michaiah Micah Ramirez v. United States of Aritzia Inc. (C.D. Cal., No. 2:26-cv-08458, filed July 31, 2026). The docket for one of these, Petersen, was reviewed in detail: it shows "Notice of Settlement" filings on January 30 and 31, 2023, followed by a "Notice of Voluntary Dismissal" on March 7, 2023, and an order dismissing/closing the case on March 8, 2023 — i.e., it was voluntarily dismissed about two months after filing, following notices of settlement; the docket does not disclose the settlement's terms. Given the volume and repetitive nature of these individually filed suits, the others were not each checked docket-by-docket in this review; they are reported here only as filed, with their filing dates, and their individual resolutions are not verified.

Copyright lawsuit. Tangle Inc. v. Aritzia, Inc. (N.D. Cal., No. 4:23-cv-01196), filed March 16, 2023 for copyright infringement, was brought by fidget-toy maker Tangle Inc. The docket shows Aritzia's motion to dismiss was granted without prejudice on October 18, 2023, and a further dismissal "WITH PREJUDICE" was signed November 9, 2023; the plaintiff then appealed to the Ninth Circuit (No. 23-3707). A mandate issued February 5, 2025, and the district-court case was reopened the same day. Litigation continued through 2025 and into 2026, including an answer to the amended complaint (February 19, 2025), a referral to mediation (April 2025), a referral to a magistrate judge for discovery (May 2025), further jurisdictional motion practice that concluded with an October 3, 2025 docket order, a protective order over discovery materials entered February 17, 2026, and additional discovery motion practice through March 2026. The docket's most recent entries, dated September 25, 2026 — four days before this profile was checked — show a motion for summary judgment filed along with supporting declarations, a request for judicial notice, and related motions to file material under seal; no ruling on that motion appears in the docket entries reviewed. The case had not been dismissed, settled, or decided as of the entries reviewed.

Other suits not examined. CourtListener's results also include Alto Dynamics, LLC v. Aritzia Inc. (E.D. Tex., No. 2:23-cv-00590, 2023) and Near Field Electronics LLC v. Aritzia Inc. (E.D. Tex., No. 4:25-cv-01424, docketed as consolidated into a lead case in December 2025) — both naming technology-licensing plaintiffs rather than consumers; these were not reviewed in detail as they do not concern consumer complaints.

Is Aritzia Legitimate?

Aritzia is a long-operating, publicly traded retailer: its parent, Aritzia Inc., trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under ticker ATZ, and the company states on its investor-relations site that it was founded in 1984 in Vancouver, Canada and operates 140+ boutiques across North America in addition to aritzia.com. The U.S. website's own Terms of Use identify United States of Aritzia Inc. as the entity U.S. customers contract with. Separately, Aritzia's Better Business Bureau headquarters profile (filed as Aritzia LP, Vancouver) is not BBB accredited and carries a BBB Rating of F, based on BBB's stated reasons of failure to respond to 22 complaints and 21 unresolved complaints, alongside 330 complaints in the last three years and a 1-out-of-5 average from 34 customer reviews; a separate, unclaimed Trustpilot profile for aritzia.com shows a 1.5 TrustScore from 206 reviews. Several individual lawsuits allege aritzia.com is inaccessible under the Americans with Disabilities Act (one confirmed settled and dismissed within about two months of filing), and a copyright-infringement suit brought by Tangle Inc. remained in active litigation as of September 29, 2026, most recently a motion for summary judgment filed September 25, 2026 with no ruling yet shown on the docket. This page assigns Aritzia no rating, score, or "scam" label of its own; readers can weigh the return-policy terms and complaint record above for themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Aritzia legit?

Aritzia is a long-operating, publicly traded retailer whose parent, Aritzia Inc., trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under ticker ATZ; the company says it was founded in 1984 in Vancouver, Canada and operates 140+ boutiques in addition to aritzia.com. Separately, Aritzia's Better Business Bureau headquarters profile (filed as Aritzia LP) is not BBB accredited and carries a BBB Rating of F, and an unclaimed Trustpilot profile for aritzia.com shows a 1.5 TrustScore from 206 reviews. This page assigns Aritzia no rating or "scam" label of its own — the return-policy terms and complaint record on this page are reported so readers can weigh them for themselves.

How long do I have to return something to Aritzia?

Per Aritzia's own Returns & Exchanges page, for online orders of regular-priced merchandise you have 14 days from the shipping date for a full refund to your original payment method, or 30 days from the shipping date to exchange the item or get merchandise credit on a Digital Gift Card; after 30 days, Aritzia states it "will no longer accept returns." Sale items discounted less than 50% follow a 14-day exchange/credit window, while "Sale items marked with a discount of 50% or greater are final sale." Swim tops, bottoms, one-pieces and accessories, per the same page, "can only be returned online," not in store.

Which items are final sale at Aritzia?

Aritzia's Returns & Exchanges page lists as final sale and not eligible for return or exchange: "Sale items marked at 50% off or greater; Intimates and Shapewear; Hosiery; Face Masks; The Super Puff™ Personalized; Salt & Stone; Gift Cards." All returned or exchanged items must also be unworn, unwashed and undamaged, with original tags attached and a valid receipt, per the same page.

How do I contact Aritzia customer service?

Aritzia's Contact Us page lists live chat or phone at 1-855-ARITZIA (274-8942), available "Monday through Sunday 6:00am - 9:00pm PST," plus an email option through the same page. Legal notices can be sent to [email protected] per the Terms of Use, and general business/sales inquiries go to [email protected].

My Aritzia order shows as delivered but I never received it — what can I do?

Several complainants whose accounts are published on Aritzia's BBB profile describe Aritzia denying a refund or replacement once the carrier's tracking shows the package as "delivered," even after disputing ever receiving it. If this happens to you, Aritzia's contact page directs you to reach Concierge at 1-855-ARITZIA (274-8942) or by live chat/email; Aritzia's shipping page also notes a tracking number can take "up to 72 hours" to activate. Complainants in the BBB cases reviewed documented their building or mailroom's own records, requested detailed carrier evidence (signature, photo, GPS data), and in some cases pursued a chargeback through their card issuer or filed a BBB complaint when Aritzia's internal review did not change the outcome.

Does Aritzia charge duties or extra fees on U.S. orders?

Aritzia's Shipping page states: "No additional duty charges will be applicable to shipments within North America." Prices shown on the site exclude tax; applicable sales tax and the chosen shipping charge are calculated and displayed on the order summary before checkout. Standard shipping costs $7.50 (free when signed into an Aritzia account), Express is $10, and Priority is $15, per the same page. The same page states Alaska and Hawaii orders "can only be shipped via Standard Shipping," free for signed-in clients and $22 for guests, and that Aritzia is "unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO and US Territories at this time."

Can I get a cash refund for an Aritzia gift card, or for an item bought with one?

Aritzia's Returns & Exchanges page states: "Gift cards may not be redeemed for cash or refunded unless required by law. All returned items purchased using a gift card will be refunded as merchandise credit back onto a gift card." Gift cards accepted by Aritzia are its own Aritzia, TNA and Wilfred branded cards, per the Payment & Security page, and are stated as "not accepted outside of Canada and the USA."

Has Aritzia been sued?

A CourtListener search found several individual federal lawsuits alleging aritzia.com is inaccessible to blind users under the Americans with Disabilities Act, filed between 2018 and 2026; one of these (Petersen v. United States of Aritzia Inc., S.D. Fla., filed January 2023) was voluntarily dismissed about two months later, following notices of settlement, per its court docket. Separately, fidget-toy maker Tangle Inc. sued Aritzia, Inc. for copyright infringement in 2023 (N.D. Cal., No. 4:23-cv-01196); after a dismissal, an appeal, and a 2025 remand, that case remained in active litigation as of September 29, 2026, with a motion for summary judgment filed September 25, 2026 and no ruling yet shown on the docket. These are allegations from filed complaints, not findings of wrongdoing, except where a dismissal is specifically noted.
