AMIRI

AMIRI is a Los Angeles luxury fashion brand founded in 2014 by designer Mike Amiri and operated by Atelier Luxury Group, LLC; Italian fashion group OTB, chaired by Renzo Rosso, took a minority stake in the brand around June 2019 (WWD; OTB's own site). AMIRI's own pages give conflicting descriptions of its exchange and refund-timing policy (one page describes a same-style size/color exchange, another says AMIRI offers no direct exchange at all; refund windows are stated as both 5-10 and 2-10 business days) — both reported on this page rather than picked as fact; AMIRI excludes final-sale and markdown items from returns, and states that once an order is placed "it cannot be modified or cancelled." Atelier Luxury Group, LLC has itself sued Zara USA for trademark infringement (notice of settlement filed December 2020, dismissed February 2021) and sued a web host over a Chinese counterfeit site called AmiriOutlet, while separate individual plaintiffs have filed five Americans with Disabilities Act website-accessibility lawsuits against Atelier Luxury Group since 2023, plus a sixth docket that was administratively closed without a complaint ever being filed. AMIRI's BBB profile carries an F rating for not responding to 8 complaints filed in the last three years, and a separate BBB customer-review score of 1.25 out of 5 from 4 reviews; its Trustpilot score is 2.7 out of 5 from 11 reviews. USAComplaints has no posts about AMIRI as of September 29, 2026.

Ordering from AMIRI, or dealing with a return or a counterfeit worry? What to check

AMIRI is the trading name of Atelier Luxury Group, LLC, which operates amiri.com and AMIRI's retail stores. Before assuming a charge, a cancellation refusal, or a suspicious website is wrong, check AMIRI's own published policies below.

Returns and exchanges — AMIRI's own pages disagree. AMIRI's Shipping & Returns page (amiri.com/pages/shipping-returns) states returns and exchanges are allowed "within 10 days of the order delivery date," with items required to be in "original, unworn, sellable condition, with tags attached and accompanied by the original receipt," and says a U.S. exchange "can be made for a different size or color of the original style ordered, depending on product availability," with up to one exchange shipment paid by AMIRI; a different style, or any international order, instead requires the customer to "return your item for a refund and place a new order for the preferred style." A separate AMIRI page, its Shipping & Returns FAQ (amiri.com/pages/shipping-returns-1), checked the same day, answers "Can I exchange my AMIRI product?" with: "While AMIRI does not offer direct exchanges, you are able to return your item for a refund and place a new order for the preferred style. Up to one exchange shipment will be paid by AMIRI" — describing no direct exchange at all, for any order. This page reports both AMIRI pages as they read on September 29, 2026, rather than picking one as authoritative. AMIRI offers complimentary domestic return shipping, with returns initiated at amiri.com/apps/returns. Returns are processed within 3-5 business days of arriving at AMIRI's facility; refunds go "only to the original form of payment," and the Shipping & Returns page says this can take 5-10 business days to appear on a bank statement (or, for cash purchases, up to 14 days by mailed check), while the separate FAQ page states refunds may take "2–10 business days following processing" — again two different windows on two AMIRI pages live the same day.

Final sale and markdowns are not returnable. AMIRI's Final Sale Policy states: "All products marked 'Final Sale' are excluded from returns and exchanges. Customized, personalized, or altered products, intimates, final sale merchandise, and items purchased during markdowns or clearance events are not eligible for return or exchange. AMIRI reserves the right to extend, modify, or discontinue markdowns at any time without notice." Check your order confirmation and product page for this label before you buy. Separately, on price adjustments AMIRI's own pages again give two different windows: its Terms of Use say AMIRI may, on request, adjust the sale price of a recent purchase "within ten (10) days of your delivery date," while its Shipping & Returns FAQ page states AMIRI "will adjust the sale price at your request within seven (7) days of your delivery date" — both checked live September 29, 2026. Both pages agree AMIRI "does not participate in price matching with other retailers."

Orders cannot be changed or cancelled once placed. AMIRI's Order Processing page states: "Please allow 2-3 business days for order processing… Once an order has been placed, it cannot be modified or cancelled. Please confirm that all order details are correct before completing the checkout process," and separately that "all orders are reviewed by our security team and can be cancelled by AMIRI at any time." AMIRI does not ship to P.O. Box, APO, or FPO addresses, and orders to those addresses are cancelled. According to AMIRI, all orders ship from Georgia, United States.

If a package arrives damaged or is reported lost. A "Lost Packages" section of AMIRI's Shipping & Returns page (amiri.com/pages/shipping-returns, not a separate page) states: "Once proof of delivery is attached to a tracking number, AMIRI is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items. All risks are assumed by the courier," and directs questions to [email protected]. The same page separately states a signature is required for all amiri.com orders, that U.S. customers can redirect a package to a UPS Access Point, and that the courier will reattempt delivery the following business day if no one can sign. AMIRI's pages reviewed here do not describe a separate damaged-item claim form beyond that email address.

Worried an item or website isn't genuine? AMIRI's own Authentication Requests page says: "We can only verify products purchased directly from AMIRI or through one of our authorized stockist partners. If you purchased from AMIRI or an authorized retailer, please provide a copy of your invoice along with clear photos of the item to [email protected]… If you purchased from a non-authorized merchant, we are unable to authenticate items purchased outside of our official channels. In this case, we recommend contacting the seller directly for support regarding authenticity." In a 2021 federal lawsuit, AMIRI's operator stated that it "carefully curates the label's premier reputation by allowing AMIRI merchandise to be sold only on its own website, https://amiri.com, in its Beverly Hills flagship retail store, and at select luxury department stores and high-end fashion boutiques" — a website or seller outside that list is not confirmed as an authorized AMIRI channel.

If a dispute can't be resolved directly with AMIRI. AMIRI's Terms of Use state that "all Disputes...shall be finally and exclusively resolved by binding arbitration," conducted in "the City and County of Los Angeles, California," under "the internal laws of the State of California," with no class-action arbitration allowed — except that "either party may assert an individual action in small claims court for Claims that are within the scope of such court's jurisdiction in lieu of arbitration." The Terms of Use separately give California residents a right, under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, to contact "the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs" (1625 North Market Blvd. Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834; 800-952-5210).

  • Check the seller. AMIRI's site lists its authorized stockists at amiri.com/pages/stockists-so; a purchase from any other site cannot be authenticated by AMIRI.
  • Read the product page and order confirmation for a "final sale" label before buying markdown or clearance items.
  • Double-check your order before checkout — AMIRI states orders cannot be modified or cancelled afterward, though a price adjustment on a full-price item can be requested within 10 days of delivery.
  • Contact AMIRI's Client Services at [email protected]; AMIRI's site lists customer-service hours as Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed on major U.S. holidays.
  • Keep your delivery and return tracking records — several BBB complaints and reviews below concern disputes over whether a returned or delivered package was received.

Company background

According to AMIRI's own About/Timeline page, designer Mike Amiri "began his career hand-crafting stage pieces for L.A. performers" and "established AMIRI in his hometown of L.A." in 2014 with a capsule collection at the Maxfield concept store. AMIRI's site describes its later milestones as: expansion into Selfridges, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus in 2017; induction into the CFDA and a Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent nomination in 2018; a 2020 flagship store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills; and 2021 flagship openings in New York (SoHo) and at the Wynn resort in Las Vegas. AMIRI's site states that in 2019, Italian fashion group OTB (chaired by Renzo Rosso) "took a minority stake in the brand." This is independently corroborated: OTB's own website (checked 2026-09-29) says OTB "holds a stake in American brand Amiri," and trade publication WWD reported at the time that "luxury fashion brand Amiri has received a minority investment from OTB, the Italian fashion group chaired by Renzo Rosso" (terms of the deal were not disclosed); the stake belongs to OTB as a company, not to Renzo Rosso personally, and none of these sources describe OTB as controlling or wholly owning AMIRI.

The company that operates amiri.com and holds the AMIRI trademarks is Atelier Luxury Group, LLC, identified in AMIRI's own Terms of Use ("Atelier Luxury Group LLC ('Amiri,' 'we,' 'us,' 'our')") and, in a 2021 federal court complaint it filed, as "a Delaware limited liability company." USPTO's TSDR record for Registration No. 5,452,854 (Serial No. 87617771) lists the current owner as Atelier Luxury Group, LLC of Delaware, covering key chains and key rings; backpacks and leather bags; clothing including tops, jeans, jackets and dresses; and online retail store services; the same registration's own prosecution history shows an "automatic update of assignment of ownership" recorded April 10, 2019, indicating the registration changed hands at some point — TSDR does not name the prior owner on the page checked, so no earlier registrant is identified here.

AMIRI's Order Processing page states that "all orders ship from Georgia, United States," indicating a fulfillment center there separate from AMIRI's Los Angeles origins. AMIRI's Better Business Bureau file lists a Los Angeles business address (1801 E 7th St) and, read from the page's own underlying data (rather than its on-screen display, which runs a day earlier), gives a "Business Started" date of January 7, 1997 and a BBB file-opened date of November 28, 2018 — both well before AMIRI's own stated 2014 founding by Mike Amiri; this page reports BBB's dates as BBB states them without resolving the discrepancy with AMIRI's own founding claim.

Separately, Atelier Luxury Group LLC filed an action against the United States at the U.S. Court of International Trade on January 29, 2026 (No. 1:26-cv-00884) against the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and CBP Commissioner Rodney S. Scott. Justia's copy of the docket, checked September 29, 2026, shows the case was stayed on January 30, 2026 under the court's Administrative Order 25-02, was assigned to Judge Richard K. Eaton on July 16, 2026, and "remains stayed pending any action by the assigned judge"; the subject matter of the complaint is not described in the docket entries shown, so it is not reported here.

Complaint record: USAComplaints, BBB, and Trustpilot, reported separately

Several sources track complaints and reviews about AMIRI, reported here separately rather than combined into one figure, and with BBB's own "complaints" and "reviews" tabs kept distinct from each other:

  • USAComplaints: 0 posts about AMIRI on this site as of September 29, 2026.
  • BBB complaints: AMIRI (Online Retailer, Los Angeles, CA) is not BBB accredited and carries a BBB Rating of F; BBB's stated "Reasons for rating" is "Failure to respond to 8 complaint(s) filed against business." BBB shows 8 complaints in the last three years (1 closed in the last 12 months); the 4 complaints BBB publishes in detail are each marked "Unanswered" and describe: the wrong jeans being shipped with a request for an exchange or refund; a delivery marked as signed-for at the customer's workplace despite no reception desk there; a denied refund after AMIRI said a delivery-confirmation document proved receipt, which the customer disputed; and an order that "kept canceling" during processing.
  • BBB customer reviews: a separate score of 1.25 out of 5 from 4 reviews (not part of the "Unanswered" complaint count above). The reviews describe: an order the customer tried to cancel within minutes of placing it by mistake, and was told could not be changed or cancelled; a dispute over whether a returned package was received (the customer's tracking showed it delivered back to AMIRI's facility, but AMIRI said the customer received the original order); a price drop shortly after a full-price purchase with a request for a price adjustment; and a Spanish-language review reporting no response to a return inquiry.
  • Trustpilot: an unclaimed profile showing 2.7 out of 5 ("Poor") from 11 reviews. Trustpilot notes "this company hasn't invited their customers, so reviews may not be representative." One review, from a customer in the Netherlands, describes being unable to return sale items under a policy the reviewer says was not disclosed until after purchase, references a 14-day return-day expectation apparently based on the EU statutory withdrawal right rather than AMIRI's 10-day merchant policy, and describes difficulty reaching customer service by phone.

Because each source covers a different population, time window, and methodology, none of these figures is added to or averaged with any other.

Lawsuits involving AMIRI (Atelier Luxury Group, LLC): trademark suits it brought, and ADA suits against it

A CourtListener search for federal cases naming Atelier Luxury Group, run September 29, 2026, found nine matching dockets: two trademark-related suits brought by AMIRI's operator as plaintiff, five Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) website-accessibility lawsuits filed by individual plaintiffs against it, one further docket opened naming it as a defendant that was administratively closed because no complaint was ever actually filed, and a U.S. Court of International Trade filing. All descriptions below are allegations from filed complaints, not court findings, except where a dismissal, settlement notice, or other disposition is noted.

Atelier Luxury Group, LLC v. Zara USA, Inc. (C.D. Cal., No. 2:20-cv-00675), filed January 22, 2020, was a trademark infringement action under the Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. § 1125), with an amended complaint filed August 24, 2020. The specific claims are not described here because the complaint's text was not available on CourtListener as of this check. On December 16, 2020, the parties filed a notice that they "have reached an agreement to settle all claims in this matter," as reported by trade-press outlet The Fashion Law, which added the parties were then "documenting the settlement" and expected to file a stipulation of dismissal; the case was dismissed on February 22, 2021. Settlement terms were not disclosed.

Atelier Luxury Group, LLC v. Peg Tech Inc. (C.D. Cal., No. 2:21-cv-05599), filed July 9, 2021, alleged contributory trademark counterfeiting, contributory trademark infringement, contributory trademark dilution, contributory false designation of origin, and contributory unfair competition. Atelier's complaint states that it "discovered that a criminal enterprise called AmiriOutlet was manufacturing, marketing and selling counterfeit AMIRI merchandise" from a website operated from China, and that defendant Peg Tech Inc. was AmiriOutlet's web host. Atelier's complaint describes itself as "the registered owner and creator of AMIRI," alleges it "sells tens of millions of dollars of AMIRI merchandise every year," and cites the "famous AMIRI MX1 denim jeans" as retailing "for $1,150, or more" — figures from Atelier's own complaint, not independently verified here. CourtListener's docket shows a "Dismiss Case" filing entered September 17, 2021; the docket itself does not state a reason. Trade-press outlet The Fashion Law reported the same day that Atelier "has filed to voluntarily dismiss the case," adding this was "likely as the result of an out of court settlement" — The Fashion Law's own inference, not confirmed by the docket or by AMIRI.

ADA website-accessibility lawsuits against Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (defendant in each):

  • Martinez v. Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (E.D.N.Y., No. 1:23-cv-02827), filed April 17, 2023; the plaintiff filed a notice of voluntary dismissal and the case was terminated on June 8, 2023.
  • Castro v. Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (S.D. Fla., No. 1:23-cv-23688), filed September 27, 2023; the plaintiff filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on November 22, 2023, the same day the case was closed.
  • Mahlberg v. Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (S.D. Fla., No. 1:24-cv-21099), filed March 21, 2024, with an accessibility report and DOJ ADA guideline attached as exhibits; a Notice of Settlement was filed May 8, 2024, followed by an Order Dismissing/Closing Case on July 26, 2024, a further Notice of Voluntary Dismissal on August 9, 2024, and a final Order Dismissing/Closing Case on August 12, 2024.
  • Herrera v. Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (S.D. Fla., No. 1:26-cv-25018), filed July 24, 2026; the plaintiff filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on September 9, 2026, and the case was dismissed on September 14, 2026.
  • Cesario v. Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (S.D.N.Y., No. 1:26-cv-07462), filed September 1, 2026, with a last known filing on September 23, 2026; no dismissal or termination date has been entered as of this check, so this case appears to remain open.

A sixth docket, Ariza v. Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (S.D. Fla., No. 1:26-cv-25015), was opened naming Atelier Luxury Group, LLC as defendant on July 24, 2026, but no complaint was ever actually filed on it: the docket's only entry is a clerk's notice, entered July 27, 2026, stating the case was "administratively closed - No Initiating Document filed/attached. No further entries will be made on this case." Because no lawsuit was actually filed, this docket is not counted as a court case on this page.

Is AMIRI Legitimate?

AMIRI's Terms of Use name Atelier Luxury Group, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, as the operator of amiri.com; the same company runs AMIRI's retail stores and holds multiple live "AMIRI" trademark registrations with the USPTO (e.g. Reg. No. 5,452,854). AMIRI's own site names [email protected] and a Monday-Friday customer-service window as its contact channel, and states that it can only authenticate items bought directly from AMIRI or from its listed authorized stockists. Separately, AMIRI's operator has gone to federal court itself to enforce its trademarks, including a 2021 suit over a Chinese counterfeit site, AmiriOutlet, and a 2020 trademark suit against Zara USA that ended in a settlement and dismissal. AMIRI's BBB profile carries an F rating for not responding to the complaints displayed there, and its Trustpilot score is 2.7 out of 5 from 11 reviews on an unclaimed profile; Atelier Luxury Group, LLC has also been named as a defendant in five website-accessibility lawsuits under the Americans with Disabilities Act since 2023 (plus a sixth docket that was administratively closed without a complaint ever being filed), most of which ended in a voluntary dismissal or a settlement notice within months of filing. This page assigns AMIRI no rating, score, or "scam" label of its own — readers can weigh the policies, complaint record, and litigation history above for themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AMIRI legit?

AMIRI is operated by Atelier Luxury Group, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company that holds multiple live "AMIRI" trademark registrations with the USPTO and sells through amiri.com, its own retail stores, and listed authorized stockists. AMIRI's BBB profile carries an F rating for not responding to the complaints displayed there, and its Trustpilot score is 2.7 out of 5 from 11 reviews on an unclaimed profile. This page assigns AMIRI no rating or "scam" label of its own — the policies and complaint record on this page are reported so readers can weigh them for themselves.

What is AMIRI's return and exchange policy?

AMIRI's Shipping & Returns page states that returns and exchanges are allowed "within 10 days of the order delivery date," with items required to be in "original, unworn, sellable condition, with tags attached and accompanied by the original receipt," and that a U.S. exchange "can be made for a different size or color of the original style ordered, depending on product availability." A separate AMIRI FAQ page (amiri.com/pages/shipping-returns-1), however, answers "Can I exchange my AMIRI product?" by saying AMIRI "does not offer direct exchanges" and that a return-and-reorder is required instead — the two AMIRI pages disagree, and both were live on September 29, 2026. Refund timing is also given two ways: "5-10 business days" on the Shipping & Returns page or "2–10 business days" on the FAQ page, both after processing; cash purchases are refunded by mailed check, taking up to 14 days.

Can I return a final-sale or markdown item from AMIRI?

AMIRI's Final Sale Policy states: "All products marked 'Final Sale' are excluded from returns and exchanges. Customized, personalized, or altered products, intimates, final sale merchandise, and items purchased during markdowns or clearance events are not eligible for return or exchange." AMIRI also states it "reserves the right to extend, modify, or discontinue markdowns at any time without notice." Check the product page and your order confirmation for a final-sale label before buying.

Can I cancel or change my AMIRI order after placing it?

According to AMIRI's Order Processing page, "once an order has been placed, it cannot be modified or cancelled," and customers are told to "confirm that all order details are correct before completing the checkout process." Separately, AMIRI states that "all orders are reviewed by our security team and can be cancelled by AMIRI at any time," and that orders to P.O. Box, APO, or FPO addresses are cancelled. A BBB complaint reported that a customer who tried to cancel an accidental order within minutes was told no changes or cancellations were possible.

How do I know if my AMIRI item is authentic, and what about counterfeit AMIRI websites?

AMIRI's Authentication Requests page states: "We can only verify products purchased directly from AMIRI or through one of our authorized stockist partners… If you purchased from a non-authorized merchant, we are unable to authenticate items purchased outside of our official channels." AMIRI's stockists are listed at amiri.com/pages/stockists-so. AMIRI's operator, Atelier Luxury Group, LLC, has separately sued in federal court over a counterfeit site called AmiriOutlet; Atelier alleged the site was an unauthorized operation "manufacturing, marketing and selling counterfeit AMIRI merchandise" from China. A purchase from a site other than amiri.com or a listed authorized stockist cannot be authenticated by AMIRI.

Did AMIRI sue Zara?

Atelier Luxury Group, LLC (AMIRI's operator) sued Zara USA, Inc. for trademark infringement under the Lanham Act in the Central District of California (No. 2:20-cv-00675), filed January 22, 2020. The specific allegations are not described here because the complaint's text was not available on CourtListener as of this check. On December 16, 2020, the parties filed a notice that they "have reached an agreement to settle all claims in this matter" (as trade-press outlet The Fashion Law reported that week, adding the parties were then "documenting the settlement"), and the case was dismissed on February 22, 2021. Settlement terms were not disclosed.

Why is AMIRI (Atelier Luxury Group) being sued over website accessibility?

Since 2023, five individual plaintiffs have filed Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) lawsuits against Atelier Luxury Group, LLC in federal court, generally alleging problems with the accessibility of amiri.com. Most of these cases (Martinez, Castro, Herrera) were voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff within a few months of filing, one (Mahlberg) ended with a Notice of Settlement before dismissal, and one (Cesario, filed September 2026) appears to remain open as of this check. A sixth docket (Ariza) was opened naming Atelier Luxury Group, LLC as defendant but was administratively closed because no complaint was ever actually filed on it. None of these dockets show a court ruling on the merits.

What is AMIRI's BBB rating?

BBB lists AMIRI as an Online Retailer based in Los Angeles, CA, not BBB accredited, with a Rating of F; the stated reason is "Failure to respond to 8 complaint(s) filed against business." The profile shows 8 complaints filed in the last three years (each of the 4 published in detail is marked "Unanswered"), with 1 closed in the last 12 months, and a separate BBB customer-review score of 1.25 out of 5 based on 4 reviews — BBB does not label the customer reviews "Unanswered"; that status applies only to the complaints tab.

How do I contact AMIRI?

AMIRI's Client Services can be reached by email at [email protected]; AMIRI's site lists customer-service hours as Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed on major U.S. holidays. AMIRI's Contact Us page also offers a web contact form. A phone number, 310-878-2996, is listed on AMIRI's BBB profile but is not shown on AMIRI's own Contact page as of this check.

Who owns AMIRI?

AMIRI is operated by Atelier Luxury Group, LLC, identified by that name in AMIRI's own Terms of Use and in federal court filings as "a Delaware limited liability company." AMIRI's site states that designer Mike Amiri founded the brand in Los Angeles in 2014, and that in 2019 Italian fashion group OTB (chaired by Renzo Rosso) "took a minority stake in the brand." OTB's own website confirms it "holds a stake in American brand Amiri," and trade publication WWD reported around the same time that Amiri had "received a minority investment from OTB"; the stake is held by OTB as a company, not by Renzo Rosso personally, and no source reviewed here describes OTB as controlling or wholly owning AMIRI.

What if my AMIRI package is lost, damaged, or stolen after delivery?

A "Lost Packages" section of AMIRI's Shipping & Returns page (amiri.com/pages/shipping-returns) states: "Once proof of delivery is attached to a tracking number, AMIRI is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items. All risks are assumed by the courier," and directs questions to [email protected]. AMIRI's order-processing page separately states that orders are processed within 2-3 business days and that shipments ship from Georgia, United States. The pages reviewed here do not describe a separate damaged-item claims form beyond that email address, so a customer disputing a delivery would need to raise it directly with AMIRI's Client Services and, where relevant, with the shipping courier.
