I have been shopping for a puppy, but did not want to buy on "impulse" so have been taking my time to find which pup will fit into my family the best.
I have made many trips to the Precious Puppies store, because it seemed like such a nice clean store when I first found it. The "cribs" instead of cages are a nice touch. Yes, their dogs are very expensive, but I assumed it was worth it. (Even though I did find out many of their dogs are NOT AKC registered, which does not fit with the prices)
Still, I was waiting to find the perfect pup. Suddenly I noticed a dog I was interested in was having diarrhea. I also noticed several pups wheezing.
I had second thoughts and decided to wait. On my return visit to the store I noticed multiple puppies with sneezing and coughing. There was one poor little pup (beagle/boston terrier mix) who was sitting in the corner of his crib with bloodshot eyes, shaking severely and just looking totally listless.
I said something to the salesgirl, who just ignored me.
It became obvious to me that this store sells sick puppies. I am very glad I waited and did not buy on "impulse". PLEASE BEWARE OF BUYING THESE PUPPIES!!! Even if your puppy gets well with vet visits, I do believe you are supporting the puppy mill trade.
