I was charged twice!

I booked a hotel reservation on a Friday, then checked my bank account on Saturday morning and saw that Priceline had charged my account twice for $261.88! When I contacted customer service they give the excuse that this is due to an authorization charge. What?!? One charge to the account should authorize it just fine. Now I have to wait 3-7 days (I assume business days) for the authorization charge to drop. I need the money now! Priceline has lost me as a customer.
