Overnight Packages Returned Because Names Missing From Directory

I was really surprised by the FedEx shipment deliveries. I faced problems on two occasions. They do not even bother to enter the apartment building and check in the office. UPS inquires at the apartment office and tries to deliver to the address.

1) My first and last name are not listed in the directory of my apartment building. They listed my first name and middle name instead of my last name. The FedEx delivery was returned, stating "Incorrect Address."

2) In the directory, only one name can be listed. The other shipment, which came to my wife, was also returned, stating that the name is not listed in the directory. If there are four people in the apartment, does it mean that only one person can get FedEx service?

The interesting part is that both shipments were sent overnight, and FedEx did not even understand the urgency. I have taken these cases up with my employer, and I am trying to change the contract to UPS. When I contact customer service, they are not ready to answer, and they drop the lines.
