Charging customers for service never ordered or requested. Colorado

Electronics and household app.
DirectTV has a billing practice that seems to me to be unethical... Boardering on illegal. When you subscribe to their service, they include a "free" 3 month movie channel package. Once the 3 months is up, they begin charging you $36/month for the service. Eventhough this service was never mentioned to me or the process for billing, they still are willing and able to charge after the 3 months unless the customer proactively calls in and cancels the service at the end of the 90 days.
Once I noticed the extra $36/month on my bill, I called. It was 5 months into my service. Eventhough I never used the channels in the package, Direct TV refused to reimburse the amount charged until I escalated the problem through 3 levels of customer service and spent 2 hrs stating my case. What a pain.
So, with Direct TV... Buyer beware.
