I signed up for service on the internet using Direct TV's special they advertised for $34.99 per month. This package was to include:

HBO, Showtime, Stars FREE for 3 months
FREE 1 HD DVR 3 HD receiver upgrades
HD included
Get over 6,000 On Demand shows and movies at no extra charge,
FREE standard professional installation
FREE handling & delivery
NO extra charge for local channels
NO startup costs & NO equipment to buy

I called and asked them why they did not honor what they advertised. They said I was supposed to get online 2 weeks after signing up and fill out a rebate form. They gave me credit for the 3 months of HBO, Showtime and stars in the amount of $163.66. I instructed the Direct TV employee to put me on the cheapest plan and to take back the HD receivers since they were billing me for them (and they were not free as advertised).

DIrect TV then charged me:
$97.99 for January
$97.99 for February
and deducted $65.62 from my account today, 2/23.

I told them that because they have not honored anything they promised me nor what they advertised, they are in breach of their contract with me and to cancel my service. They said they will be keeping the $65.62 they just took out of my account and they will be billing me the early termination fee.
