Car-Mart
No no no!

Back in 1998, I was a teenager and seeking for an affordable car and I went to Car-Mart because I did not have any credit. I purchased a 1988 Ford Mustang for $1,995, because it was just traded in, they didn't inspect it throughly before selling it at their regular price, so I was lucky. I never had a problem, I drove to Louisiana, Mississippi and Washington, DC. I was also a student in Washington, DC - so I was nervous about driving 11 years old car from Arkansas to DC, but no problem there and back.

While in DC, my rear brake seal broke, it cost me over $300 to fix it, so I fixed it. I called Car-Mart to let them know that I may not be able to make the payment. They said "Oh, not a problem, please write us a letter so we can save it in the file" so I did.in May, when school was out, I needed the money to drive home to Arkansas, I called them again, they said the same thing, and asked me to go in. I borrowed my mom's car to go and talk with them, they asked me to bring the car in and they would hold it until I pay two missed payments plus late fee.

I had until June 26,1999, but June 19,1999 I came up with $500, I went back to the dealership to get my car back. I sat and waited, waited, they told me that they repossessed and sold my car. Of course, I was VERY upset and they apologized and said taht they would let me have another car for $500 down, I told them that they should not make me pay down payment for their mistake, they disagreed. I stormed out of the building very upset. I tried to look around, but did not find any I like except the one at Car-Mart in Rogers so I went back and see if they would still allow me.

They said "Because you did not keep in touch with us, we can't sell you the car because of repossession on your record". I told them that the whole repossession was their mistake or their dishonesty. Never again would I buy a car from Car-Mart. But I must admit, their cars improved a lot over the years, but they are NOT trustable!!!
