Refuses To Close Account In Leui of Fraudulent Activity

I noticed my account with PayPal kept getting these charges I wasn't authorizing. I contacted PayPal and said hey... These charges aren't authorized. I did it in email form. Then I got emails sent to my personal email account from PayPal that said we're sorry we're not crediting your account back. I said what in the world? So I decided to Google PayPal and came across all the complaints filed. My heart sank! I decided I would log on to PayPal and close my account and be done with it except it said I couldn't. Again I said what in the world?!!! So I took the time to look up PayPal's number. I called in and spoke to an Indian man who i could barely understand (which really annoyed me) He told me that my account could not be closed for 50 days. (At least I think he said 50 possibly 60) I said excuse me?! He said my account could not close until the current transaction cleared my account. I said what transaction? He told me and I said oh no I don't think so. I did not authorize ANY transaction via PayPal!!! He said well that's unfortunate because we say you did and we will not close your account until the money clears. I said fine. I will go to my bank first thing in the morning and close my bank account because too many fraudulent activities have occurred that you all refuse to do anything about. You all are causing me to lose money and unfortunately for you I'm just not down with that! So tomorrow I guess I will be going to my bank to get my accounts closed which really sucks because I just ordered brand new checks that cost me over a 100 bucks. = (Perhaps I can just dispute the charges? However, I feel if I do they will just be back next week or next month. *sigh* Stupid a* PayPal!!! They are such a ripoff. OBTW, I found out that they aren't a bank and therefore not regulated by Federal law that governs real banks!!!
