My cellphone broke down, once again, at the most inconvenient moment, and I came in to buy a new one.
No, I do not want to extend my contract another 10,000 years to get the latest gizmo for free. That gizmo will be obsolete in a year, and will probably malfunction and die in less than 9 months -if my previous 3 phones are any indication.
Jake was very nice, I will give him that. Nice enough to sell me a USED PHONE for the price of a NEW PHONE.
How do I know it was used?
When I went to my phone book, the phone screen read: "The previous user still has 5 contacts." Followed by the previous users mother, et al, phone numbers.
Obviously, I didn't like that, but being busy, let it slide. When the thing started malfunctioning after a month, I took it in for what I assumed would be simple matter, fixed with an exchange for what I originally paid for, and a sincere apology.
Nope. The sales manager said it was more that 30 days, so I couldn't get a refund or exchange, despite me bringing up the screen with the incriminating message. Nobody could explain how that got there.
Then she said that I must have dropped it in water. WTF? I told her perhaps the PREVIOUS USER did, and to kindly overlook protocol since THEY SOLD ME A USED PHONE FOR FULL PRICE AND CAUSED ME AN INCONVENIENCE.
She put me on the phone with "customer service" which was just another sleazy t mobile sales person who gave me the rigmarole and actually tried to sell me a new phone and extended contract.
I cancelled my service immediately, and refused to pay the paltry balance. Of course, they are trying to ruin my credit over it. Where do I make a report on YOUR credit t mobile?
