PayPal
Could Not Cancel $84.25 Camera Payment to Fraudulent Seller

Internet & Web

I bid on a camera on eBay and won it. I paid through PayPal right after the auction. eBay then sent me an email telling me NOT to pay, because that user's account was cancelled and it was fraudulent. I went into PayPal to cancel the payment, which was in "UNCLAIMED" status, but PayPal went ahead and paid it anyway. They told me that only the seller has the right to cancel the payment, not the buyer. It is as if PayPal gives the seller, who is fraudulent, total control over my credit card. This is outrageous!

PayPal does not cover the funds at all. The seller, Michelle Santos of Providence, Rhode Island, made off with my $84.25 thanks to PayPal saying I could not cancel the payment, only the seller could, even after eBay said not to go through with the transaction. I thought eBay and PayPal were joined companies. You are at risk with PayPal just as if you do not use them. They are just making money off of you to do the transactions, and you are still at the same high risk, even more with PayPal because they give the seller/fraud control over your credit card. It says BUYER'S PROTECTION on your account page, but do not be fooled. They will not cover any funds not recovered from the fraudulent user's account.
