Credit account - Citibank

I have been a sears credit card customer for over twenty years. Purchased thousands of dollars in products and services. Just this week we had an estimate for windows for a rental property we own. Never been late on a payment. Until about a month ago, the account was empty. Bought a power washer for two hundred some odd dollars. The windows were almost five thousand dollars.

Last night, got home went through the mail and found a letter from Sears Cardmember services telling me that my account has been reduced to $300 credit limit because of a serious delinquency on my credit score. The delinquency is a wrongful reporting from American Express on an account that is not mine and I have been disputing it for months. REgardless, it is the only negative entry on my credit report.

No mention that my history with Sears is spotless. No mention of the money I spent there.

The letter is final, no appeal, no one to talk to at Sears.

I'm sure that my small complaint means nothing to Sears and they will not even notice that we will no longer be shopping there or at Kmart or Lands End, but we will know and sleep better.

Well, fortunately I dont need sears and will close my account and buy my windows locally.
