Deployed Navy son's retail card closed after a year unused

My 21-year-old son enlisted in the Navy two years ago. About twelve months back he got his very first store card, from Sears, and used it to buy a set of new tires. He is now deployed in the Middle East, serving the country, and Sears has treated him badly. I am his mother. I have been sending in more than the minimum on his account, and not one payment has been late or skipped.

My guess is that the account was shut because he has not touched the Sears card for over a year while deployed overseas. That is a poor way for Sears to show respect for the men and women in uniform who defend our freedom. Shame on them. How can I get this closure removed from his otherwise spotless credit report? This is simply a very unfair practice: closing his account over not meeting their requirements to keep the card.
