First off let me say my husband and I are not techies by any means! We ordered Direct TV; a technician come out to our house and installed our equipment.in speaking with him I told him that in a few months we would be upgrading our old sets to new HD sets. He installed a HD receiver in our living room and put a standard receiver in our family room (we didn't know the difference at the time!). Now that we purchased new televisions to replace both our our old standard models from the living and family room; we discovered the problem. I called customer service and explained to the woman on the other end what had happened. She said I would need to order the HD receiver for an additional $99. I said what? She said you should never had ordered your equipment that wasy. I told her I didn't order any equipment because I had no clue what to order in the first place! It was the technician that made that decision! I asked to have the fee waived and we would take a used HD reciever; but she said no - nothing I can do!
