Travelocity Prices Higher Than Hotel Site

Booked a suite for Reno for 3 nights over Mother's Day Weekend. The rates weren't bad, but when another person decided to join our trip I went to the hotel's website and the same exact room was $60 less PER NIGHT. After calling Travelocity they offered a $25 credit on a future booking. Why would I waste my time??
