After hurricane Charlie there was every mobol phone service providing free calls except 1, ATT. Our cell phone did not work in Port Chrlotte so we drove to Fort Myers to get reception and lo and behold, ATT needed an access number to use our service that I had had for 6 years. They didn't have a clue what the problem was.
We went back home to the destruction and did the best we could with out phone service.

When the towers were put back up and ATT started to work again I asked for a credit on my bill. We don't do that they said. We can give you free air time but that won't help you as I see you have terminated your contract.
Never again ATT.
