Refused to cancel contract even though they can not provide service where I live

I have had service with them for about 7 years. The phone service never worked well at my home. It constantly would drop calls or incoming calls would go straight to voicemail. There simply was not good reception here.initially this was not a problem as I had a landline, and was able to use my cell only at work, or to and from work, and use my landline at home. But now I have cut my landline so I need to make phone calls using my only phone, my T-mobile cell - but I can't - so I called to tell them I want to cancel my contract. I expected they would want to charge an early termination fee as I have 5 months left to go - however I didn't feel I should be charged the fee as they can not provide me with service where I live. They said their coverage maps showed I should have coverage here. I told them there was no coverage and asked what I needed to do to show that - take a video of calls dropping? I've had a couple of phones over the years - none seems to get a signal here. When friends come over that have T-mobile they get no signal here. So what I have to do is walk outside and down the street to get reception. They asked why I was only complaining now if I had had service for 7 years. I told them that it wasn't a problem not being able to make calls from home when I had a landline, but that now I no longer had a landline so I needed to be able to use T-mobile at home. They told me that I had had 30 days when I started my service to try the service out and report any problems - and now it was too late. I've called and talked to couple of operators and supervisors and they simply refuse to let me out of the contract. I tried to argue that for the contract to be valid - they have to be also keeping their end of the deal up - which is to provide reliable service - which they can not where I live.
I will never agree to another cell contract. This is so maddening - they have all the control and you are helpless. Why should I be forced to continue paying for a service that doesn't work where I now need it the most?

If by some remote chance someone at T-mobile is able to read and fix this problem for me I will happily remove this post and put up a glowing review instead.
