North Face review - customer service is bad

I went to the Macy's at White Marsh mall and found a NorthFace jacket that I really liked and it was on a 50% off coat rack. I grabbed the coat and asked a lady at the service counter if the coat was supposed to be 50% off because NorthFace is usually pretty expensive. She scanned it and said it was because that particular store didnt carry NorthFace, but that it was a return from another Macy's that did carry it.

So i decided I tried it on and then decided to buy it. I took it to the counter and it rang up full price. I told the attendent what the other lady had said and the attendent checked with someone else. They came to the conclusion the coat was not supposed to be on the 50% off rack. I tried to find the lady who was previously at the other service counter however she had left. So the lady at the counter said there was nothing she could do. So it took it to another counter and explained the situation and he eventually told me that the coat shouldn't have been on the 50% off rack. I asked him where it should go then and he said in the back. I left very mad because it was not my fault that they had stocked the coat on the 50% off rack when they, according to the last gentlemen at the counter I spoke to, shouldn't have it even on the sales floor.
