Charged me twice for items I purchased

Be sure to check your receipt when shopping at this Walmart (Hillsborough, NC) and before leaving the store. They ripped me off today by charging me for two items that I didn't purchase, for a total of $8.00. I discovered this when I got home.

Since a round trip visit to the store is 25 miles for me, I called to let them know of their error and to ask for a refund. I was told me the customer service rep and then the acting manager that I would have to come back in person in order to get a refund. Even more irritating is that neither of the people with whom I spoke apologized to me for the store's error.

How convenient for them — it's their mistake but I'm the one who has to be inconvenienced in order to get my money back. I doubt I'm going to shop at this store again, but if I do I will stand at the check out line and check the receipt in front of the cashier before I leave, holding up the line for everyone behind me in order to make sure that I don't get ripped off again.
