Patel rude, unprofessional customer service, and fraudulent handling of business

On Feb 3, I shipped a package from the UPS Store on Floyd Rd in Austell, GA. This was a fairly expensive piece of medical equipment. The employee at the store advised me to purchase insurance on the package, and they packed and shipped it.

When the package arrived in New York, the equipment was broken. There was an investigation, during which UPS brought the package back to the Austell store. I was then told that I would have to pay the shipping again ($187.00), if I wanted to get the package back to the recipient. (Although, I had already paid this shipping charge, UPS retrieved the package for the investigation). I picked up the package, and at this point it is in my possession. I have paid only for UPS to damage my package.

During the process of this claim, the employee of the UPS Store was very evasive and rude. She tried to deny responsibility, blaming UPS because they were the delivery company. At the same time UPS was blaming the UPS Store, because they are the shipper.

Three months later, I just received a check from the UPS Store, but the check is not for the amount of my expenses. At this point I have paid UPS Store almost $200.00 to break my equipment. They have reimbursed me 450.00 to cover the insurance that I purchased, but, they refuse to reimburse me for my shipping.

My package went to its destination, but was retrieved for investigational purposes, but I am still out over @187.00 for shipping charges, for a package that was shipped back to me.

I think this was very unprofessional. If UPS treated it's larger companies this way, they would be in big financial trouble. Hello FED-EX!
