UPS did not pay for a package that they broke after I even payed for shipping insurance Ripoff

I shipped a linear amp that is used in ham radio. I took the package to the ups store and paid the shipping cost and placed $1000.00 of insurance on the package. When it got to were it was going the person e-mailed me that the amp was all bent up and broke. He said it looks like the package was dropped. I got ahold of the ups store that I had shipp the package, they had ups go pick up the package from were it was shipped to in NJ. They sent it to some place were they look over the package to see if it was packaged right. This took about 10 days or so. The package was sent back to the ups store in coldwater. They had it for a few days waiting for them to make up there minds about paying or not. Well I got call from the ups store in coldwater to come and pick up my amp and that ups was not going to pay for it. Now this is not right I paid for shipping insurance, they took the money for it, but the place they sent it to CRAWFORD in Ft. Worth TX stated that the package was not packed right. When I packed the amp in the box I put shipping popcorn in the bottom of the box, placed the amp in the box, wrapped it with bubble wrap and then filled the rest of the box with shipping popcorn. The amp did not move around a bit in the box. Now the amp is heavy it weighs about 70 lb. When I got the amp back most of the shipping popcorn was not even in the box yet. All the legs on the bottom of the amp was all broke off. Looks to me that it was dropped right on the bottom of it. And also the person I sent it to unpacked it first. I have no idea how he repacked it when ups came and picked it back up. I didnt even get my insurance money back that I paid for. One of the workers at the ups in coldwater said that the insurance is not even for damage. Its for if the package gets lost, but ups web site says it for damage too. Anyway I am sure UPS dropped the amp and broke it, but they will not honor there insurance. Its really great that you find out that if you pack your box and it gets broke they dont cover there insurance. It would be nice to know this before you shipp anything out. The person who bought the amp paid about $1000.00 for it. Now he wants all his money back. I sent him half of the amount becuse I did not break it. It was sold to him on e-bay. Anyway now he's mad as hell too. Can not blame him.
