International coverage and phone never works Ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

I have a tri band Samsung, supposed to work in almost all countries. It has never worked. I have called TMobile before every trip. I verify coverage, frequency selections, the carriers used etc. But when I arrive at my foreign destination I never get a signal. When I get back I call TMobile, and I get all kinds of excuses. Finally yesterday I told them I want either a replacement phone or an adjustment to my bill. They would do neither one. Said I need to call them from the country I'm in when having the problem. Sure, spend $100s of dollars to tell them my phone isn't working. I'm sure they know what it costs to call USA from foreign places.

I told them I will discontinue my service. No way will I pay for another phone when the one I have doesn't work. They said it's no longer under warranty. True, because I thought it was just the places I went that didn't have coverage. Little did I realize their service and phone is the problem.

I'm very disappointed that they are willing to lose a customer over a $30 phone upgrade.
I still want international coverage with a cell phone, but guess I'll need to rent one.
