Bad customer service/bad billing - service/billing

Mobile Phones

I have had T-Mobile service since 2002 and have consistently paid my bills on time.in fact, my monthly payment is taken out of my checking account on the 4th of each month.

T-Mobile billed my account on November 4 for $59.59. I dropped my service on 11/09/09 due to a horrible experience attempting to upgrade my phone. I assumed this would pay for the previous month's service. This was not the case.

On December 4 T-Mobile debited my acocunt once again. Their explanation was that their billing was one month behind and that my November payment was actually for September.

Their explanation was difficult to accept, but the difficulties I encountered in attempting to upgrade my phone were much worse.

I went to a T-Mobile store to upgrade my phone and paid $55 to do so. I never opened or activated the new phone and returned it to the store where I got it within one week on a Saturday morning at 11:30.

I was told that I would have to return in the afternoon about 4:00PM to receive my money. The store did not have $55 to give me at 11AM on a Saturday morning.

This seemed incredible and totally incomprehensible that a store in a shopping center on a Saturday morning would not have such a small amount to return to a customer.

To add to the bad experience, I had plans on Saturday to watch a college football game, and my team was in the top 5 in the nation.

It took more than an hour of my time to return to the store, wait for service, and get the matter taken care of.

I later made two more trips to a different T-Mobile COMPANY store to do the upgrade. The service that I received was just as bad. One person assurred me that I could do it, and another one said that I could not without paying over $200 and then getting a rebate by mail.

A totally different problem with T-Mobile which I had accepted for seven years was the lack of coverage for many, many miles when I traveled from Atlanta, Georgia to my house at the beach at Panama City Beach, Florida.

I now have ATT cell phone srvice, and I have almost total coverage from Atlanta to Panama City Beach, Florida.

I was satisfied with the rates with T-Mobile, but when I needed customer service, I found it to be totally none-existent.

If you're contemplating new phone service you should give it a lot of thought before signing with T-Mobile if you believe you might have need for good coustomer service.

A seven year long former customer of T-Mobile.
