Did ntb mess up my alternator?

I took my car for a oil change on tuesday. I got out of there and my car was very slow. I didnt turn back but the next day my battery light came on. I took it to a shop and they told me my alternator was bad. No mind you i have my car for under 3 months and never had a problem before. I called NTB and they said they have nothing to do with it..
