Manchester Connecticut Bad diagnostic repair of Mazda Tribute

I took my Mazda Tribute into the Morande service department a few months ago and told them the Battery charge light was intermittently coming on. It would only do it periodically then stay on a second or two and go off. They told me they checked the alternator and battery and everything was fine.

Within a week my car died 100 miles from home and the generic service place charged me $700 for a new alternator.

A few weeks ago the battery light started coming on again. Same symptoms.

I took it for a service and the guy told me same story. Tried to convince me I was seeing the check fluids light (which is orange and in a different position). Like I would not know the battery light when I had just had an alternator failure.

He says again he checks the battery and charge system. All fine (he says).

I am in New Jersey and the car again dies but this time without battery light on. The service station I was towed to, said battery not charging and may be alternator, but he jiggled the wires again and it started charging.

On the way home the light starts coming on and off.

I think it is a wiring problem but the lack of ability to diagnose and the willingness to just dismiss without fulling checking the problem and just superficially always saying it is possibly an alternator problem is hugely frustrating and leaves me with little confidence in Mazda cars or the people who sell and service them
