I purchased an alternator back in Feb 07 and recently my battery light came on, took my car to my mechanic he advised me either the battery or alternator needs to be replaced. I then went to the store where I brought the alternator and had it tested. The check came back as bad alternator, so under my warranty I was given a new one on 12/16 plus I had to purchased a new battery ($80.00) because the alternator was not working, I had to pay someone ($75.00) for the second time to install the alternator in less then 10 months then the very next day my battery light came on again so when I got off on 12/19, I went back to the store because my mechanic performed a test which indicated the alternator I was given was not working properly. The associate refused to give me a new alternator or a refund instead stated it was my wires that weren't working. On December 21st, my car broke down with me on my way to work & I believe I am entitled to a full refund which I am having a problem receiving. Because of the defective alternator I received, my car broke down, which caused me a full day's wage
($120.00), plus I had to have my car towed after waiting a total of three hours (thank goodness I have roadside or that would have been another expense) and then I was charged $321.00 for diagnosis, labor and a new alternator. I currently have the core and the receipt from the mechanic who diagnosis my car, which clearly indicated the alternator is totally at fault for the incident. I want something to be done soon.
