I recently started service with Direct TV. They provided me with a faulty DVR box which completely disabled our ability to watch anything on demand - through the entire holiday season. It sucked!

I called and went through a trouble shooting session with a technician, which resulted in me reformatting the hardrive over the phone (a one hour phone call). After reformatting the hardrive, the technician inoformed me tha they woudl replace the equipment if it continued to fail... Just to call back. Low and behold, it did fail, so upon calling back I told the rep that we expected that they would credit us for the pay per view movies that we downloaded and could not watch, due to their faulty equipment. No credit was given and the rep told me that there were no supervisors that i cold talk to on the phone that are above her. Well... I can write.

Basically Direct TV has you handcuffed into their service contract and they do not care about your satsfaction with a very expensive service.
