Withdrawal After Cancellation Left My Bank Account Negative

I recently canceled my service with Direct TV. As I was checking my bank account, I noticed they took out a large sum of money. When I called, they said this is what I owed and that, due to their policy, it was said in the agreement, which I never saw. They kept my cc that I started with them and took it upon themselves to withdraw the money without me knowing when. I think this is morally wrong. I would have paid, but they didn't give me the chance! Because they took out money when I wasn't expecting it, it made my bank account negative!
