This problem is 2 fold. First since 2004 I have been getting a notice from a collection agency that I owe Capital One $900.00 on a credit card I never had any knowledge of. The balance owed keeps climbing (it's up to $1,400.00 now), I get the dunning notice once a year. I challenged this and asked for a copy of the credit agreement signed by me and any charge receipts that I had signed. They have yet to come up with any.

Then most recently I received a bill for a new credit card with a fee owed of $50.00. It was a different account number than the first one. I never received a card for the new account (or the old one either for that matter). I called Capitol One and blasted them. They politely told me they would cancel the account and that I would owe nothing. I then got a letter in the mail saying the account had been cancelled and that they would be reporting the cancellation to all the credit reporting agency's. I haven't received a copy of my report yet, but I will be absolutely outraged if I see the opening of the account on my credit report. Has anyone else encountered this rip off? If so would anyone like to file a class action law suit against Capital One. Does anyone have advise on this matter?
