Ripoff Capital One REFUSED to provide their own attorney with any proof that my husband owed this account. TransUnion, Equifax and CSC won't remove this bogus mark off my husbands credit report!

After several phone calls, resulting in no information provided, and a Certified Letter sent requesting documentation about this account, nothing was received.

However, my husband was served with a Small Claim suit by the local Sheriff's Office and we appeared in court.

In fact we appeared 3 times protesting this account as invalid. Capital One's attorney postponed the hearing until last May hoping to get information from Capital One.

Capital One REFUSED to provide their own attorney with any proof that my husband owed this account. She made a copy of my letter, signed receipt and dismissed the entire case without predujice.

I have since been trying to get this item deleted from his credit report (TransUnion, Equifax and CSC) to no avail, even providing a copy of the court dismissal because Capital One tells them that he does owe this bill and will not it removed from his file.

This is totally outrageous that a company can lie like this and hurt someone's credit even though they cannot substantiate anything. I am in the process of looking for an attorney to deal with this and have just informed the 3 credit bureaus that if they continue to be a party to this farce, that they may enjoy the benefit of being included in the lawsuit.
