Account Numbers - Garbage Service

This is the first account I've had through WM where the first 5-digits of my social security number is used within the account number. To make matters worse, my roommate that lived at the same address before this, had the account in their name and their first 5-digits of their SS# were also included in their account number. They refuse to change it to support the privacy of the customer, citing that if your garbage gets picked through to call the PD, and that they do not use your SS# or ask for one. They refused to allow me to speak to a top Supervisor, indicating they were consulted when they placed me on hold, but that I wasn't permitted to speak with them unless they called me back at their convenience. They also wanted to change my account number by opening a new account at a fee of $35 and change, but couldn't promise the same 5-digit number matching my SS# wouldn't be generated again. I have since written a letter to their Privacy Policy Department since the Customer Service "team" refused to provide me with any correspondence information other than their 800#.
