Overnight package sat 10 days in warehouse, no notice left

I bought some expensive products online, and the seller used FedEx Overnight shipping, which was supposed to arrive in 48 hours. After more than 10 days it had never shown up, so I started calling and found out that FedEx claims they made an attempt to deliver. However, I did not receive any failed delivery notes at my house, nor any voicemail from FedEx. They were just sitting and waiting for 10 days with my product in their warehouse. Now I will have to drive 20 km to the nearest FedEx facility to pick it up.
I will not buy from sellers who use FedEx, and I would advise others not to use FedEx if you are concerned with reliability.
