30-day cancellation policy isn't 30 days

When I started with APX—now Vivint I was shown the 30-day cancellation policy. That was 5.5 years ago. But after just now canceling due to moving next week, they relate that the 30 days is really just 30-days before the precise date of the "renewal date, " which is one specific day each year. I'm canceling 6 months before the next renewal date, so I have to pay for a half year. And they don't want their equipment because it is out of date and all of the batteries are dead after 5.5 years. Pretty deceitful company and the staff I talked with was interested in one and only one thing—money. Use them only if you never plan on moving and never dying—except on a specific date each year with giving them 30-days prior notice.
