I purchased a Dell dimensions 8250 thirty six days ago on 4/21/03. Note the memorial day holiday was during this time. They say they have a five day grace period on the 30 day warranty. It actually took 7 days for the computer to arrive.
I discovered that my Microsoft XP office software that Dell installed didn't work. When I tried to use the computer it would say that the software had not been properly installed and to call Technical Support. I called Dell and got a different gentleman from India on two occasions, two ladies, and two other men on each occasion that I called. They did not help - they said it was not a hardware problem (I purchased the 2 year warranty) (it doesn't cover any software).
So I asked about the software and they said for a $149 fee they would fix my computer. Wait! They installed the software and it doesn't work! Why do I have to pay for their mistake. A braindead supervisor named Seth last words (SARCASTICALLY AS HE HUNG UP ON ME) to me was "have a nice day and thanks for calling Dell." DON'T BUY DELL PRODUCTS - THEY HAVE A TECHNICAL SUPPORT SYSTEM DESIGNED TO MILK MORE MONEY OUT OF YOU AND NOT FIX YOUR PROBLEM.
