Account Unused Since November Showed Over $7000 in Transactions

I am not a frequent user of PayPal. In fact, I haven't used the account at all since November and only had a $9 balance in the account.
On Monday I was using my debit card from my bank and it was refused. It seems my account was overdrawn. I went online, checked my bank balance and found numerous PayPal transactions.
I checked with PayPal and found transactions totaling over $7000. It has been a nightmare since then. I had to close my checking account, and then PayPal started attaching my debit card from another account, which resulted in that account being closed.
