ComCast Telephone Service
Pittsburgh PA What A Gip. Ripoff, rip-off, rip off

First of all this service has been shady from the start, we also along side having the telephone service for 12.99 a month AS THE COMMERCIAL STATES, have cable and internet services.

From the beginning we've had problems, we contacted them back in late september early october to order service. They informed us that they would be there Thursday, it was Monday so we figured it seemed typical.

Time came and went, I stayed home from a job, and my significant other stayed home from a job just to make sure they came with no results on Thursday or Friday.

Monday came and we called them to ask them what was going on, the lady on the line informed us that the apartment owed them 100 some odd dollars that wasn't paid. Whoever lived here before snuck out on a deal, we told the lady (and various others) that this isn't our responsibility since we just moved here so she promised to send out a tech in no time flat.

Low and behold they finally came almost 2 weeks later, when the guy showed up he tried to have me sign some paper, and asked for the remaining balance in which I told him I wouldn't do it and phoned my significant other, he then called Comcast HQ (whoever is high in charge) and had it taken care of, we got a bit of free service and the likes. After all it's really not our problem there's a balance, we shouldn't have to pay like Comcast tried to make us do. Kind of sneakily in fact.

The main reason for the report is that the commercial is very deceptive. It says 12.99 a month for calls, but does not specify nor does a rep that you can't make calls outside of the area code you are in. (Example being I live in 412, my parents in 814 and her parents in cali) I understand that Cali is extreme long distance but it wasn't specified so should have I JUST known that?

Push came to show we owe them over 200 dollars for a service that was suppose to be 12 something a month. I don't remember seeing anywhere there were "special" requirements or rules, on the commercials or anyone I've talked to.

Comcast is an alright ISP and cable provider but... I guess with anything you have to be cautious right?

Sounds like someone needs to update there commercials a bit, or at least be a bit more honest with
