Worst Service ever... Store makes fault and customer has to suffer - PSN

I went to ToysRUs store on MacArthur, Irving, TX to get myself a PSN card using which I could buy games from the PSN network for my PS3. I saw quite a few no. Of selections in the store and was not sure which one was the right one (Being a new PS3 user). I asked the store associate for help and he handed me one suggesting that it was what I was looking for. It was a PSN card and that was apparent from the title itself. I bought it for $40. When I came out of the store to the parking lot, I decided to read the FAQs and details. On reading them I realized the card was only valid for PSP systems and not for PS3. So, I went back to the store immediately and informed the associate. He handed me over $40 worth of PS3 PSN cards for which I paid up. He told me to return the PSP card to the returns section.

However, In the returns section. They refused to take back the PSP card although I explained them that the store person had mistakenly given me the wrong card. They were adamant that as per store policy PSN cards once sold cannot be returned. When after having a conversation for nearly 15mins I could not convince them, I decided to head home and contact Sony and ToysRUs online customer service for help. Sony Customer care told me that if I obtained the card directly from them, they could do something about it. However since it was from a 3rd party retailer, the retailer had to take care of the mess.

I emailed Toys RUS customer care the details along with screenshots of the sales receipt and the card itself 5 times. They replied the first 3 times suggesting they could not help. After that they just stopped replying.

So I have lost $40 because of mistake from a Store associate and the business refuses to make amends to that.

I really feel sorry bout the fact that I ever decided to shop with Toys R Us.

Worst service ever.
