Don't Trust the Geek Squad - Pioneer Radio/Geek Squad

Electronics and household app.

My father, Thomas, purchased a new pioneer radio for my car after my other one was stolen. He ordered it from Best Buy Online because they didn't offer the one he liked in the store. When it arrived, we drove my car to Best Buy and had the Geek Squad install it. About a week later, the stereo stopped working. It wouldn't even turn on. When I brought it back in, the geek squad said that a fuse blew and fixed it. About a month later the same thing happened again. I took it back in and again the Geek Squad said it was the fuse. After several more cases with this fuse issue, the Geek Squad admitted that it was a defect with the radio and unfixable. I requested a new radio and they refused claiming that the 30-day warranty had expired. I told them that the first instance of the defect occured within my 30-day window but that the Geek Squad misdiagnosed the problem. I took their diagnois in godd faith. After all, Best Buy claims that it hires the experts so you don't have to worry. The customer service team told me I should not have trusted the Geek Squad and the first time I had an issue, I should have asked to exchange it for a new one. Now I'm stuck with a broken radio and will not be shopping at Best Buy in the future.
