Ripoff

I went to verizon to purchase a new phone. The phone I was looking for was no longer available. The sales agents suggested I purchase a pocket pc. After having the phone for a few weeks many things began to go wrong - for example could not text, outbound calls would disconnect after about 5 seconds, and it was making calls on its own.

I was not happy with my new purchase and contacted customer service - which was a headache! They told me I needed to go to a local verizon store, which I did. After explaining the problem to the customer service rep he said my best bet would be to sell the phone on ebay??? So let's review, I bought a $500 that didn't work but I could make money by selling it on ebay and have to pay a $175 cancellation fee. WOW how did I get stuck paying so much money for a phone that doesn't work???

At this point I'm very upset because I was scammed and have spent 2 days trying to get a phone that makes calls. I made one last attempt to speak with a customer service agent at another verizon location they actually talked to me and these were my options - Cancel my service $175, sell my current phone on ebay contact my insurance company to see how much the deductible is to get a new phone, or buy a new phone for roughly $300 from verizon - automatically renews your contract. Wow I'm looking at giving a company $800 not counting my monthly bills of service (that I didn't get) and all I was looking for was a phone that made and received calls. $800- $1,000 for a phone that never worked - how sad. Well I canceled my contract with verizon. * remember When a customer has good service they may tell 2-3 people. If a customer has a bad experience but the problem is resolved they may tell 10 people. If a customer is upset they will tell everyone they know this company scammed 1,000 the past 2-3mnths from me, but I will warn everyone I know! Remember customers pay your bills you can scam now but soon others will catch on: (
